One of my favorite local events is the annual Herndon Festival in Herndon, Virginia.  This year the festival runs from Thursday, May 28th at 6:00 pm  through Sunday, May 31st at 6:00 pm.
If you have never had an opportunity to go to the festival, you are in for a real treat. This is a community festival like the kind you remember from your childhood. Featuring 3 stages with performances going on all the time, everyone should be able to find a band or entertainer that piques their interest. festival: Go To the 5th Annual Washington Green Festival this Weekend-11/8-11/9 - 11/07/08 09:01 AM
This weekend the 5th Annual Green Festival comes to the Washington D.C. Convention Center.
We all know that there has been an increased interest lately in all things 'Green.' This is an opportunity to find out more about how to integrate these changes into your life and your home.
I am especially proud that my husband's company, Ardently Green, is featured this weekend at the Festival. This morning Fox5 Television did a story about the Festival and Bob Weatherwax (the aforementioned husband) and Jim McKenna were featured in the story. You can watch the clip at:

festival: Celebrate Fall with the Reston Multicultural Festival-Saturday, 9/6/08 - 09/02/08 01:47 PM

This Saturday at Lake Anne Village Center in Reston, VA., the Reston Community Center will sponsor the annual Reston Multicultural Festival.  This festival, which will be held from 11 am to 5 pm will feature both entertainment, food a fashion show.  Those attending the festival are invited to come dressed in native costumes from their native or ancestral country.

festival: Another Festival in Reston: 5th Annual Asian Festival, 8/9-8/10/2008 - 07/30/08 06:04 PM
Summer is a great time to enjoy the outdoors, your friends, entertainment, and wonderful food. Next weekend in Reston, Saturday, August 9 and Sunday, August 10,  will be the 5th Annual Asian Festival (www.AsianFestivalDC.com). Gather your friends together and go!
The festival, which will be held at the Lake Newport Tennis Park (11452 Baron Cameron Avenue, Reston, VA 20194) will feature some really cool features and events. Some of the things you will find there include:

Back when I was a kid, the Reston Festival was the highlight of my summer. I vaguely remember Lake Anne festivals, but really it really  sticks in my mind when it was at Browns Chapel.
These days you will find it at Reston Town Center, but the spirit of the festival remains true to the original goals--bring Restonians together to celebrate the culture and people of Reston.

festival: Fun Things to Do in Fairfax County, Virginia in June! - 06/03/08 04:38 PM
This is a great time of year to attend local festivals and there are a couple of good ones coming up in June.
The weekend of June 8th and 9th, plan to attend the Celebrate Fairfax! at the Fairfax Government Center.  This festival is always well attended and has great headliner bands.  Some of the bands appearing this year include: OK Go, Bowling for Soup, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and Emerson Drive. festival: Save the Date: Herndon Festival is May 29 through June 1 - 05/26/08 01:50 PM
If you have never made it to the Herndon Festival, I encourage you to block out some time next weekend and make a date with yourself and some friends.  The Festival begins Thursday Night (May 29) and continues though Sunday (June 1). This large community festival, held in Old Town Herndon, offers something for everyone; great food, live music, crafts, rides and even fireworks! 
We have found that parking at Herndon High School and taking the shuttle is a breeze...parking can be an issue.  You will find that the shuttle buses run regularly and it is an easy and stress-free way … (0 comments)

If you are in or around Reston this weekend, make it a point to drop by the Reston Arts Festival, at the Reston Towncenter. This is an annual event, held in May, and sponsored by GRACE.  The weather is great this weekend, so go by and check out some great exhibits by local, and not-so-local, artists.
