for sale by owner: How Hard Can it Be? Selling Your House FSBO - 05/09/12 10:56 AM
I am well aware that the general public believes that Realtors are overpaid (I could spend a whole blog post letting you know how the commission we receive is divided and spent until we get a fraction of it to deposit, but I will save that for another day). Friends of mine are always saying, 'we might try to sell it ourselves.' My response is always, 'you should.' And then I go on to tell them how they should handle the security issues and how they want to be sure to get legal advice as they go through the contract negotiations. … (32 comments)

for sale by owner: Hooray for the Nosy Neighbors! - 07/10/11 04:52 PM
I was out front with the dogs when my good friend, and neighbor, came by to report on the Open House down the street. I had been in earlier in the week to preview the property, so she stopped by to give me her perspective. Both of them complimented me on the quality and quantity of photos available on  my listing. I know there are agents that don't take this aspect of listing as seriously as I do. Maybe their … (9 comments)
