If you haven't gotten out to enjoy the beautiful weather in Northern Virginia this week, you might want to head over to the Lake Anne Plaza waterfront tomorrow, 2/4/2012, from 1-3 p.m. and join in the 5th Annual Freezin' for A Reason. This event benefits Camp Sunshine. The Polar Dip will take place at 2:00 p.m. I just looked at the weather and it looks like it will be overcast, but close to 50 degrees! I might be a funny one to write a tribute to a preschool since my 'baby' is in middle school, but I am so warmed by the way that this local preschool has touched so many people.
Anyone who has read my blogs knows that I grew up here, in Reston, VA. We moved here when I was in 2nd grade, so I did not go to preschool here. Here are some photos from the famous Lake Anne Village Center. This was the first section of Reston to be built and the place where I spent a lot of my child hood. I have fond memories of playing in the fountain, the playhouse and the cement play area (on the left). We actually used to dive off the towers and swim in the lake...not allowed to do that now! I remember my surprise when my childhood playground showed up in my college Fine Arts textbook.
