One of my favorite annual events is the Reston Home Tour sponsored by the Reston Historic Trust. This tour allows the public to tour 5 carefully chosen private homes.
This year, the theme is 'Green Inspiration' and besides the inspiring homes, the tour will include the newly renovated Nature Housewhere attendees will be treated to cooking demonstrations and tastings sponsored by Paolo's Ristorante in Reston Town Center.

I am a life-long resident of Reston and would not change it for the world. What is it that makes Reston so special? I have assembled a list below of some of the things that come to mind. I know that I did not cover everything, but I gave it a shot.

This weekend I had an opportunity to view local homes that were placed on the Reston Home Tour here in Virginia, by their owners. The homes were lovely and my husband and I really enjoyed the opportunity to see them.
It was a little awkward, however, when at two of the homes the owners were present at the property. I felt, just like I do when I hold an open house, that the owners should have left the homes.
