The Reston Town Center Ice Rink opened at the Reston Town Center Pavilion this weekend (11/9/13).  This kicks off the skating season at RTC.

The day after Thanksgiving, November 23 this year, is the official kick-off to the holiday season at Reston Town Center in Reston, Virginia.

The fun begins with Black Friday shopping at 8 a.m.  There is a Gingerbread Man Mile, for the kids, that begins at 8:00 a.m., too (what better way to work off some of that food and energy leftover from Thanksgiving?).
Santa, who appears in the 11:00 a.m. parade,  will begin doing visits and photos at 12:30.
At 6:00 p.m., the Christmas Tree will be lit and there will be a Sing Along.

Since it's opening, Reston Town Center Ice Rink has been a community favorite! I took my children there for Girls Scout events, Boy Scout events, club outings, sporting team outings and just to meet friends and get some exercise.   Located in the Pavilion at Reston Town Center, the ice rink opened for the season on November 1, 2012. It will remain open, weather permitting, until the second week in March, 2013.    There are rental skates, and other skating supplies, available in the Skate Shop. An annual event, the 2012 Oktoberfest at the Reston Town Center kicks off this Friday, October 5 at 3:00 p.m., and will continue on Saturday and Sunday. Friday Night Live  is located in the Downtown Herndon, Virginia on the Town Green. TownGreen is located behind the new Municipal Building at 777 Lynn Street in Historic Downtown Herndon, VA.
