Have you seen these contraptions around your town and wondered what on earth they are? These are Powered Para-Gliders or PPG for short. I am an Austin Home Inspector that has taken up this hobby to fulfill my lifelong dream of FLYING! All I can say is WOW! It is unbelievable how awesome the view and the feeling is to be up there with the birds. austin home inspector: Preventing Water Damage to Doors

In my job as an Austin Home Inspector, I am frequently finding rotting door jambs due to water absorption on exterior doorways. The aluminum thresholds collect water and allow the adjacent wood door trim to absorb it leading to wood rot. This rot then migrates into the door itself and also to the wooden floor decking if so constructed. I photograph this area for all my customers and add a "preventative maintenance recommended" blurb in the report to inform them of this potential. austin home inspector: Accident waiting to happen!

As an Austin home inspector, here is a concern that I personally experienced with a client! It is a corroded toilet tank float arm. I noted the concern to the client, but it was even worse than we could estimate! It went out within a month of moving in, and of course it was upstairs. This arm allows constant water flow into the tank and will overwhelm the overflow and flood out onto the floor! SO!
