HGTV ... a Year of Firsts and SPEED STAGING. - 12/30/09 06:49 PM
Hello there,
I suspect this will be my final blog for 2009. I am off Ottawa, our Nations Capital, to bring in the New Year with Family and Friends.
As I quickly reflect (more time for a deeper reflection tomorrow on the drive) I realize that this has been a year of firsts. There have been many Career firsts as a Home Stager over the past several years as well as personal firsts but this one is a "real first"

I hope everyone was able to experience the Magic of Christmas with family and friends ...we were 30 all totaled ... 8 of which were the TRUE BELIEVERS in the spirit of Christmas. Sure brings Christmas to life.
To All that wondered about the Turducken feast ... it was AMAZING. So tender and juicy even the white of the turkey was superb. It required very little tending (Hubbies post) and was so delicious! Even those scepitical about trying the duck were pleasantly surprised at the flavor and everyone piled their plate.

Just wanted to share a quick note to thank everyone of my ActiveRain contacts and group members for providing interesting, useful and often timely suggestions, tips and tricks.

Christmas is coming ... the turduckens getting fat ... - 12/21/09 07:29 AM
Hard to believe that it is that time of year once again. This year our home is being prepared to host the family Christmas and the family is growing in leaps and bounds each year. Nothing is more exciting than watching the little ones open presents ... it really puts the MAGIC back into this special holiday.
This year we will celebrate with 11 little ones and 15 adults and surprising as it sounds we all get along ...rare for a family of this size ... I think.
Before dinner we will all come together around the tree to open presents. … (3 comments)

Big changes with just a little something - 12/20/09 11:17 PM
It doesn't take much to prepare a room for the holidays. All we did was add a few satin pillows to dress up this otherwise simple living room. In minutes we rearranged the placement of the furniture and added the holiday feel instantly with beautiful colorful pillows! The pillow were found at Le Rouet for $5.99 each ... not bad when you can achieve a festive feel like this so quickly and so inexpensively

A Wednesday full of WHY's ? - 12/16/09 09:50 AM
In my free time, I like to scan MLS listings to see what’s new and exciting. Very often I am taken back even shocked at what people/agents post on their listings. WHY are they there? … for the whole world to see … more importantly potential buyers to see!
For the most part, I’m guessing that the agent’s hands are tied. They probably make suggestions and even rearrange a few things that can be done quickly to try and improve a home.
Do agents just take the listings hoping that the owners will eventually do something about … (4 comments)

For those of you who have thought about partnering with a home staging company but haven't yet, for what ever reason, it's time to put things in place for 2010.
At Home Harmony we are seeing a steady increase in those Realtors who now come to us first before listing a property. You are the authority on pricing and marketing and we will give you perfect home to do that with!
It makes total sense to do so right off the get go. Why waste months and months on advertising, open houses and showings when a home is not properly prepared … (3 comments)
