acc: Baltimore Craft Show 2019 - 02/22/19 06:49 PM
Every year I spend time at the Baltimore ACC Show, and that's what I did today. My friend Anne Hruby, my first RE instructor, shared the day with me.

Thank you, Milo, for picking me up, being our driver, and allowing me to spend time with your bride.
So much eye candy. So many artists. So much talent.
Impossible to take it all in a single day but we did walk for over three hours. We met and chatted with many artists, some I knew from previous years. Others were new to the show.
It was a delightful day and here is a taste of the … (8 comments)

Blogging Is Art!

Received this email from ActiveRain today....
''I saw Margaret Rome's entry about the ACC show in Baltimore, and wanted to
let you all know about a new show making its debut in Charlotte, NC. Some
of the artists Margaret met at the ACC show will be with us, along with
many others, so if your group is active in the Charlotte area (a booming
real estate market, so probably so), make plans to attend. Kathy Wegman,
the woman who places all those beads on found objects, is creating a fan
for the show, because I told her how much … (12 comments)

ACC Craft Show
  Baltimore Over The Years

Baltimore is fortunate to have the American Craft Council  ACC show each year. I don't think I've missed a show in 25 years and each time there is something new, something exciting, new artists, new works, new ideas, beauty everywhere you turn and even running in to former clients.

Take a look at the slide show to see some of the past Baltimore ACC craft  shows over the years.

acc: ACC Craft Show Baltimore 2012..More Than Eye Candy. - 02/24/12 02:28 PM
ACC Craft Show Baltimore 2012..More Than Eye Candy. The Craft Show is in Baltimore this weekend and it is bigger and better. With over 700 exhibitors, it may be the largest indoor craft show ever. Everywhere you look there is beauty, eye candy, creativity and an excitement listening to the artists.  There was lots of positive energy and people were buying. I have been going to these shows for many years and way before real estate. Was able to see quite of few artists from previous years and prior posts.

acc: This is my favorite gift from a Best Friend. - 12/29/11 02:26 PM
This is my favorite gift from a Best Friend.   What is my favorite gift? It is the one that arrived in the mail yesterday.
A very special book with twenty photos that chronicles a friendship over the past couple of decades. The front was done in my very special color..chocolate brown, and the opening photo was of Peg and me taken a few years ago.  Slowly flipping through the book, good times and memories flooded in. Within moments I was on the … (20 comments)

acc: If It Rolls Like a Duck...ACC in Baltimore. - 03/04/11 01:58 PM
Following up on more of the handmade art objects  from American Craft Council Show in Baltimore, take a look at  some of the pieces from the wood artisans.
I love this wooden duck. Notice how the  position of the egg changes as the duck rolls along. Fell in love with this piece and bought if for Doug's new baby boy. Can't wait to give him the gift.

acc: One Person's Stuff...Another Person's Art ..Baltimore ACC Show - 02/27/11 07:45 PM
All that glitters at the ACC show may not be gold. One Person's Stuff is Another Person's Art....and, I am glad to see this imagination used with such creativity.

I met Baron Rene von Richthofen at the Baltimore's American Craft Council Show this week. This very charming man creates art out of a variety of materials but mostly car parts and miniature cars. He uses the term "controlled chaos" descibing how he attaches these materials that fuel his imagination.

Here is a bit of the Serengeti..as seen this weekend in Baltimore  at the  American Craft Council Show February 24-27th.

I found the crocodile and the giraffe done by the same artists Scott and Jodi Causey who are from Sarasota, Fl.  They were a wonderful in moving the large ceramic crocodile on the left so  I could get a better picture. My suggestion was to get a couple of Stefan's books to display with the animals. Guess I am always marketing.
The photo of the middle crocodile was a small … (22 comments)

For over 30 years the annual American Craft Council Show has been in Baltimore! American Craft Council Show Will Be in Baltimore This Weekend! February 24-27th
As a former ceramic artist, I am not sure if I have missed an ACC show. Over the years I have gone with my friend and publisher Peg Silloway. Today was even more special. Peg's baby sister, Kathleen, joined us...and did we have fun!
Take a look at this hat marathon.
Sometimes it really pays to be the picture taker rather than the subject. This was at the end of our day. All of … (21 comments)

You will find me at the ACC this weekend just like every year in the past. The show will be February 24-27, 2011
There will be more than 700 artists including jewelry, clothing, furniture and home accessories.  The ACC is the largest juried indoor craft show in the nation.

Here are some of my observations from the past FOUR years. The crafts are as varied as the artists represented. There will be lots more photos this weekend … (9 comments)

acc: Arts and Crafts...A Bit of Humor .....HomeRome Tour - 12/09/10 08:52 AM
This past week, while visiting one of my sellers, I was able to tour their art collection. Being a former ceramic and porcelain artist and attending many craft shows, it is always a pleasure to see what other's choose for their home. Got permission to photograph a few pieces and want to share them with you. Love the whimsy and humor in some of these pieces.

acc: Eye Candy for Artists – Baltimore ACC Craft Show - 03/19/10 12:30 PM
So much has happened over the past few weeks that I haven't had a chance to write about the delightful few hours spent at the American Craft Council's Baltimore Craft Show. It's an annual treat for me and my friend/publisher Peg Silloway. We both have spent part of our lives working in crafts, and this one day is a chance to recharge our creative batteries and see what's happening in the world of fine handcrafts.

There are some old favorites we always check in with, like glass artist Josh Simpson. His work is exquisite and Peg is a collector. This … (23 comments)

acc: Such Beauty..... Winter Craft Show in Baltimore - 02/28/09 07:56 AM
It was a warm 60-degree day in Baltimore and what better way to spend it than with a best friend, also an artist, at the juried American Craft Council show? Last year Peg and I didn't go the first day because of the ice, but it's a show we try to see every year for the fun and creative inspiration it provides.
What does this have to do with real estate and blogging? Let's go green! Most crafts, wood, ceramic, glass, weaving, metals etc., by nature are already green. This year, green seemed to be the theme of the show. Many booths displayed the … (20 comments)

acc: Baltimore Annual Craft Show – Ice Can't Stop Art - 02/25/08 03:09 AM
Friday was the day planned for our yearly craft show jaunt but Mom Nature had other ideas. Freezing rain, sleet, ice were forecast and the day started out like the forecasters predicted so we stayed home.
We could have gone. As often happens, the weather for the most part was a “non-event” in the Baltimore area. The media had reporters all over town and TV talking about how bad it would be, and they succeeded in spreading fear and doubt. Kind of reminds me of real estate and the media’s “doom and gloom” Gloom and Doom? Don't Believe It!  The hardworking … (14 comments)

acc: They Gotta Live Somewhere - 02/28/07 06:07 AM
You might call this taking time off – I call it a different way of working. Spending quality time with a best friend, both of us artists, wandering around and feasting our eyes on the finest in American handcrafts. Hundreds of the best of the best come to Baltimore each February for the American Craft Council (ACC) Winter Market. If you are an artist, you don't just buy a booth and show up here – this is one of the toughest juried competitions there is, and the quality of the few who are chosen proves it.
As a former ceramic artist, … (5 comments)
