connections: Congratulations, Briana, On Your Graduation! - 05/22/11 11:12 PM
You'll recall a delightful young woman who came to Baltimore to attend college and who found her home in a Baltimore condo.  The transaction started when her mother read my blog Who Says Baltimore, Maryland Condos are Only For the Old Folks? and contacted me from the British Virgin Islands. What began as a conversation with an out-of-town buyer turned into a special connection for all of us.

That was two years ago...my how time flies and Briana has just graduated. This past week, I stopped by to see this special young lady and meet more of her family. Her mom, dad, … (21 comments)

connections: Knee Bone Connected to the Ankle Bone.... - 10/10/10 11:33 PM

Knee Bone Connected the Ankle Bone....We are connected through ActiveRain!

My daughter Erica will be starting the PA (Physician Assistant) program at  Franklin Pierce University in Lebanon, New Hampshire in November.
"Mom, Do you know anybody in NH who can  help me find a place to live?"  Can you give me a couple of seconds? ActiveRain was checked and a phone call to  Joan Whitebook was made. Within minutes, Joan returned my call and had a contact person for Erica. The only reason Joan would could not help Erica..she was a couple hours away.

We all have a wonderful connection … (16 comments)

connections: The Baltimore Sun, Spring in Baltimore and Connections - 03/26/09 11:03 AM

This morning on the front page of the Baltimore Sun there was the headline, "Spring in Baltimore" along with a most gorgeous photo of early pink buds framing the Pagoda in Patterson Park. It was such an outstanding photo, I just had to look at the photographer's credit line, and sure enough, it was my friend Jed Kirschbaum. We first met when the Sun did an article on my ceramic art many, many years ago. Jed came to my studio that day, and I still have his artistic photos hanging in my office.
Our paths crossed again … (8 comments)

connections: Connected through a Stoneware Network - 04/14/08 12:45 PM
Have you ever been to a dinner party where everyone had something in common with someone else there? It's like a giant game of cat's cradle – the lines of connection criss-cross and eventually include everyone. That's what we had the other night when a friend hosted six couples. Like the excellent hostess she is, Malynda put together interesting people and the conversation never stopped. (Well, maybe the men didn't get to say much!)

There was a woman who owns a bank, another who is a senior mortgage loan officer, and another who is with a major residential builder. All the conversation … (10 comments)

connections: Connecting and Re-connecting in the Rain - 08/22/07 01:49 PM
AUCTION SEPTEMBER 20TH  11;00 AM

It happened again. Active Rain made possible a new connection for me, and a reconnection for one of my favorite clients. The other day I received an email through AR from a woman who used to live in Maryland and was a customer of Tatiana, my client with the fabulous historic church property.  This woman has retired to Albuquerque and knew that Tatiana had moved to New Mexico as well. She had purchased a lot of Tatiana's wonderful pottery while in Maryland and wants to buy more. Did I have an address, phone, or email for … (9 comments)

connections: Speaking, Networking, Making Connections!! - 10/27/06 09:48 AM
Sixteen years ago as a real estate newcomer, I signed up for the "Fast Start" training course and met Anne Hruby, one of the finest trainers in the business. Over the years, we've remained good friends and mentors for each other. So when she invited me to speak to a GRI class about Marketing not long ago, of course I was honored to accept. As an introduction, Anne read from the new edition of "Connections" magazine that mentioned me, and from the new feature article about me in "Real Estate Executive Magazine." She told the class about my awards and achievements and … (20 comments)
