What recession? Who says that real estate is down? Penthouse condos in Baltimore are hot!

Ritz-Carlton Residences, Inner Harbor, Baltimore, MD
Yesterday the penthouse condominium at the Ritz-Carlton Residences on the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, MD was sold. Well, actually it was three penthouses joined together making a 4 bedroom, 6.5 baths, six balconies, and 12,000 sq. ft.
And it sold for a mere $12.6 million. It has views of the Inner Harbor, the Chesapeake Bay, and the Camden Yards sports complex, home to the Baltimore Orioles. And who bought it? None other than Baltimore native and mega-novelist Tom Clancy.

Some people just have the knack to create a magical party; Alice is one of those people.
The house was perfect, warm, and inviting, and everywhere you looked were tasteful Christmas decorations. The flowers were perfect, long stem white roses, poinsettias and five very different Christmas trees.
One tree is all Waterford glass. You could spend hours looking at each of the sparkling ornaments, like the stocking that glitters like crystal...just so special.

There was a study last year that looked at which words in an ad or a listing helped houses sell faster, or for more money, and which had less or even negative effect. Care to guess which worked best?
According to a Los Angeles Times article, having a "motivated" seller made a house take 15% longer to sell. But call it a "handyman special" and you could sell that house in half the average time. These are two of the results that came from a study by a Canadian professor who teaches real estate and housing trends.
