Happy Birthday Karen
For the past five years, starting on January 16, 2016, my friend Karen and I have gone out every Saturday night, celebrated all holidays together and we would have never missed a birthday. This past year has been quite different. No get-togethers. We still text daily and also talk most days but it is not the same as being together! Today I want to wish my friend Karen a Happy Birthday!

Thankful for a beautiful friendship and how it continues via phone messages and by meeting each week.
Maybe it's just a bouquet of flowers without a special occasion.
Maybe it's the way we stay in touch with daily texting, sending funny or serious messages even though we are both busy.
Maybe it's the crazy photos, jokes or inspirational messages we manage to find and share with each other. Out texting is hysterical and would make a crazy sitcom someday. Too bad none of it can be shared publicly.
It's definitely a friendship to be treasured, nurtured and appreciated.

kc: It's Not All About Real Estate ..or Is It?

There was a surprise "going away' party, planned for weeks, this past Friday.
It was for Grace, KC's best friend, sister and companion all rolled into one special person.
She was going to Kenya, back home after 12 years in America, to see her mother, children, siblings grand children.
It was more bitter than sweet for KC...but it was the right thing to do.
Loving someone means letting them go.
The party was scheduled for 5:30 but Friday's weather included high winds, downed trees, snow, power outages and the schools and government offices were all closed. It was far from ideal conditions.
But this party had to go on.

This past Wednesday, I hosted a dinner for 15 friends who have known each other for decades. We celebrate each month by getting together for a dinner.
This month was no different.
We went to Ginza Japanese Restaurant in Owings Mills and had a delightful sizzling dinner and celebrated a couple of birthdays.
Always fun getting together with long time friends.

My best friend, Karen, has it and wears an 'IT' pin like the one above.
We both wear the pins when we go out together each week.
What is IT?
That feeling that comes from within not from others. That feeling when you feel good, powerful in charge and confident. We recognize when someone else has it and it is fun to be around.

kc: Baltimore To DC's Union Station

What do you do on a rainy cool day in Baltimore?
You and your best friend take the Acela train from Baltimore's Penn Station to Washington's Union Station.
You enjoy the architecture, laugh a lot, visit all the shops, have lunch, take pictures, more smiles and you return on that same train.
It is an easy, fun and special way to have a quick get away with a minimum of stress.
No traffic, no cabs, no coat, no packing!

kc: Get Away Day In Annapolis

No reason but just a 'get away' for the day.
I have been on a wonderfully busy fast paced listing and selling frenzy. When my friend asked me to go to Annapolis...my first thought..no way...too many transactions in the pipeline. Not a good time.
Since when can't I take a day to enjoy the day, the outside, the beauty, the water and a special friend?
We had a delightful time spending the day at Quiet Waters Park and walking around Annapolis.
Nothing was missed, my phones were answered, appointments made and I have been in touch with my clients.

kc: Today Was The Day To Say Goodbye

On March 15th, I went with my friend KC to the veterinarian but
it was not time to say goodbye.
Franki gave and was given another 3 months after that visit. We weren't even sure she would make it through that night.
Franki helped transition her owner with the move to the new home. But Franki was tired and it was now time to say good bye.
Rest in peace sweet Franki.
You were loved by KC and you shared your love with all of us.

Just returned, with my friend KC, after an office visit to the most caring Veterinarian on this planet. It was after 8:00 PM and this kind doctor spent half hour just talking, petting and examining Franki ... a sweet beagle and long time family member.

Three Crazy Chicks In Baltimore
Each week we three Crazy Chicks get together enjoying a different Baltimore restaurant.
Our most recent eateries Ruth Chris's, Joey Chiu's and Christopher Daniels have had the pleasure of our company.
We like dining at these special places but what we really love is the gourmet friendship and delicious conversation.
