In today's 'snail' mail I received a custom card made by Terri Camp. She took a copy of a magazine, that featured me, and made it the cover. Please take time to read her 'thank you' note and notice we both drive the same make car with branded license plates. Her's reads "Ta Dah"

Anyone who knows me has read about my friend, mentor, publisher and confidant...Peg Silloway.
We have known each other for well over 20 years. We met at NAWBO -National Association of Women's Business Owners- back when I was a porcelain artist and she was a CPA. We liked each other from the beginning.
Over time we changed places...career wise. Peg went back into the arts, doing stained glass and then writing and you all know I went into real estate...HomeRome Realty.

Yesterday , I took a ride to Hyattsville, Maryland about an hour away from Baltimore and had the pleasure of meeting and listening to Stefan Swanepoel. He is energetic, brilliant, entertaining, adorable and has a wealth of real estate knowledge to share. I took a lot of notes and a lot of photos. Even though this one is not quite in focus, it is my favorite.

Anyone who really knows about hot fudge and ice cream has to have two separate dishes...one for the ice cream and the other to keep the chocolate hot. Then you can can devour it slowly and enjoy really hot chocolate with each bite! The Suburban Club is famous for its hot fudge. Maybe that's why we we had such a good turnout!

Don't forget to ask your past clients for a review. A couple of weeks ago Brad Andersohn held a seminar with Elizabeth Weintraub . I decided to give it a try. I called six of my previous clients and asked if they would write a review. One of the themes that run through my life is YOU GET BY GIVING a statement first heard from Floyd Wickman. The statement was new but not the concept.
When I remember Mom the first year she moved to Baltimore... her condo was filled with lots of gifts at the holidays. This would not be surprising except it was her first year and the gifts were all from people she knew for less than 12 months. When I asked where everything came from...her response: ''Everyone in Baltimore is so nice!''

In doing the 31 day challenge, realized I don't have a business card...haven't for quite a while. When someone asks for my card, I usually ask for their information and get back to them. When you have a book, do you really need a business card? But that was before I discovered a really useful item...and something to add to my Bag! What's in Yours?

The MidAtlantic Book Publishers Association booth was at the base of the Washington Monument, right in front of the Mt. Vernon Place United Methodist Church with its gingerbread spires.
