We are supposed to stay in touch with past clients. But I love it when my sellers and buyers do that for me.
How?
Through Phone calls, notes, or a call on my radio show like the past Sunday when the clients called on my radio show to share our fifth anniversary of selling their beautiful farm.
Named Sycamore Farms, this had been their home since they married over sixty years ago. Such a beautiful, unusual property sitting on 34-plus acres, a grand house built in the 1800s, and the bonus was the old river cottage.

Today on my radio show, ALL ABOUT REAL ESTATE, I had a perfect call in guest...the owner of my favorite property.
It was wonderful hearing about his passion of the perfect home which he and his bride have been in since 1961. They first saw this property in the snow and before touring the house, stood on the wrap around porch, looking at the views and stated "this is our home."
Now we are looking for that special buyer who will have the same kind of appreciation.

A Spring Board For Your Listings
Rich wrote a post Not just another dumping ground. I have a different take on this subject. I will always post my listings on AR and use them as a spring board.
The listings can then be linked to the neighborhood, area attractions, local restaurants and events.
It is a great way to give our listings exposure. For example if you search my Farm on 1560 Blue Mount Rd you would come up with dozens of articles. And one was an article written by a reporter for the BaltimoreFishbowl.com.

GPS Does Not Always Work
With a showing on my gorgeous property at 1560 Blue Mount Road 21111 in Monkton, I had a call from the showing agent that her GPS would not take the address.
No problem...I would read her the directions from mine.
But then ( after having my car in the shop this past week) I realized that my GPS had been cleared of all prior addresses.
I pulled off the road and programed
1560 Blue Mount
into my GPS.
At the same time using Google Maps, I got the directions, took a screen shot and messaged them to the buyer's agent. Easy peasy.

This morning I was showing one of my very special properties, Sycamore Farms, to a prospective buyer.
After the good mornings and how was your trip to the house, they asked which way do we have to start looking at this house.
My response...where would you like to start? Since they came in the kitchen door (closest to where we parked) I said..why don't I just follow you.
No way was I going to "make" them go to the front entrance and guide then to which rooms to see and in what order.
