Selling Your Baltimore Home..How Do You Stay Calm? There is stress selling a home at any time. When you couple the sale with an illness, an out of town move, uprooting children, a death, a job loss, a divorce, a foreclosure, an age related move or any other life altering situation...well no wonder there is increased anxiety. Take a deep breath, take a few steps back and say..."This is the stress Margaret Rome told us about" Selling a house is stressful!

upset: There Are No Emergencies in Real Estate. - 07/17/11 10:49 PM

This post was inspired by Patricia Kennedy's Hey! Nobody Died on the Operating Table!

As a former Registered Nurse, I really do understand what an emergency is. In the beginning of my real estate career, I received a '911' on my pager. Immediately I returned the call. It was an agent wanting to show one of my listings. When? The following Thursday.
"Why would anyone use a '911' for an appointment?" Her response.. "I wanted to make sure you got the message." That was the last time I used my pager. I stated then and still today...
There are no emergencies in real estate!

But hey, ActiveRain is the media!
It was in the middle of one of my busiest times – three new listings which meant three blogs, three MLS entries, three website updates, copies, photos…oh heck, you all know what goes into a new listing...plus, one settlement and contracts being negotiated for two buyer clients.
And this was the time that my wonderful daughter and husband decided to change our Internet service from cable to Verizon DSL while I was out on appointments. They were so sure I would not even notice the difference. Erica researched to make sure that the DSL … (16 comments)

upset: I Don't Do Upset! - 09/11/06 09:36 PM

Yesterday one of my favorite sellers called me, very upset. She wasn't upset with me, or that her fantastic house hasn't sold after several months. It was something that had happened in her life, and because we have become friends, and because she feels she can talk to me - she unloaded.
It immediately reminded me of another day. It was a day when a dear 80-something lady, the mother-in-law of a dear friend of mine, buried her husband. This was a terribly sad day, and she certainly had reason to be upset.
