wcr: Women's Council of Realtors® Baltimore Chapter Met Today - 01/19/12 10:17 PM
Women's Council of Realtors® Baltimore Chapter Met Today. Today at the Radisson Hotel in Cross Keys, the Greater Baltimore Chapter WCR had a Meeting. What a deal... networking, a full course luncheon and a speaker all for fifteen dollars? And one lucky member won a year of free dues for 2012. Our new president is Linda Dieter and we wish her much success. Are you a member of Women's Council of Realtors®? Did you know membership is open to both men and women?

wcr: This is my favorite gift from a Best Friend. - 12/29/11 10:26 PM
This is my favorite gift from a Best Friend. What is my favorite gift? It is the one that arrived in the mail yesterday. A very special book with twenty photos that chronicles a friendship over the past couple of decades. The front was done in my very special color..chocolate brown, and the opening photo was of Peg and me taken a few years ago. Slowly flipping through the book, good times and memories flooded in. Within moments I was on the

wcr: Today I Was the Flag! - 11/17/11 09:50 PM
Yes, You read that right. Today I was the flag. At the WCR luncheon today, the time came for the Pledge of Allegiance but there was no flag. Not to worry. With all the technology around, I quickly googled an image of the American Flag on my iPad, took a screen shot and held it up. Today, I was the flag!

wcr: Thank you Tom Drechsler - 08/18/11 10:27 PM
Thank you Tom Drechsler for a well presented session. I have been wonderfully busy with my listings, contracts, home inspections, coordinating settlements and even blogging every day. Today, I took a few hours and attended a continuing education class on Code of Ethics and Predatory Lending. This course was presented by Tom Drechsler Esq. who is such a good instructor. When time permits, I go to any of his classes ...like this one back in 2008. Tom has the ability to take a mundane...even boring subject and keep an entire classroom interested. We even kept him a bit over

wcr: There Was a Free Lunch..... WCR in Baltimore - 04/19/09 05:35 PM
Thursday's lunch (free!) sponsored by the WCR drew a good crowd to the Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors® offices. It was a good way to introduce people to our WCR and the perks that come with membership – including 12 credits FREE during the year just by being a member. That's a nice benefit especially with this economy. The discussion included " Marketing to Women." The presentation included reminders about working with Boomers, who make up 38% of the full time work force, and how important it is to ask what they want instead of telling them about you – they are

wcr: Save These Dates and...Active Rain Gathering - 04/10/09 06:44 PM
My May is shaping up to be a wonderfully busy schedule. Besides the usual real estate fun of listings and settlements, the calendar is holding some special events that I'd love to have Active Rainers enjoy, too. Take a look and see how many of these events you can be a part of: Friday May 1, 9:30 a.m to 11:30 a.m. at GBBR (Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS®) office in Lutherville, MD. I'll be talking with the Greater Baltimore Rookie REALTORS® group about my experiences using technology and the new social media. As organizer and host Kim Jones, says, "To keep

wcr: Talking Ethics and Active Rain in Baltimore - 12/03/08 02:21 PM
The place was packed. Real estate people wall to wall at Chestnut Hill Country Club for a three-hour CE seminar on Code of Ethics. Sure, it's the end of the year and agents need to get their credits. Plus, the price was right - bring hats, gloves, scarves - presents for children. Thanks to Martha Lessner for organizing this seminar. I did not need the credits because I already took this class while at MAR in Ocean city, but it was convenient, and a break was needed from my featured post that just hit a 100 comments! The class was sponsored by WCR(Women's Council of Realtors) and

wcr: It Doesn't Get Any Better! Networking NAR Style in DC - 05/20/08 02:53 PM
One of the best parts of any national event, like the NAR Midyear Meeting in Washington, DC, last week, is getting together with people we don't see often enough during the year. Thursday afternoon my friend and first teacher, Anne Hruby, and I went to the trade show where we manned – or womaned – the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) booth for a while. Along the way, we saw some friendly and familiar faces: The author and Rainmaker Dan Gooder Richard with his wife and partner, Synnove; and Allen Hainge, mastermind of the CyberStars® and fellow CyberStar Andy Norton;

wcr: Biggest Bang For Your Marketing Buck..WCR Panel in DC - 05/18/08 09:38 PM
Imagine being in a room with more than 200 motivated Women's Council of Realtors members at 8:45 in the morning. Now put yourself and three others on a panel at the front of the room, there to talk about business development. That's a recipe for enthusiasm, fun, and information sharing. When Joeann Fossland (center of the photo with me and Kristal) asked me to be on the panel a couple of months ago, I said "Of course!" without really knowing what was involved. Later I learned that I would be sharing the panel with the remarkable Kristal Kraft and Liz Callihan,

wcr: Blogging about Talking about Blogging…Again - 03/16/08 08:45 PM
It was one of those lovely winter/spring days with just a light breeze and no need for a coat. The morning started off on a high note with a featured post by Brad Andersohn on Active Rain. Brad had written about my PowerPoint presentation the night before. Brad commented on my post about my upcoming presentation to the Women's Council of Realtors, then I commented on his comment, and before long we were on the phone brainstorming. His creative PowerPoint post was the result. Thank goodness I had already made my 50 handouts because I was having so much fun (and a

wcr: A Blog About Explaining A Blog - 03/05/08 02:26 PM
Next week I get to do one of my favorite things – talk about blogging. I know, I talk about it a lot anyway, but this time I've been asked to give a presentation on blogging for the Greater Baltimore Chapter of the Women's Council of Realtors. The WCR is a great group that I've had fun with before. About a year and a half ago there was a session on using technology where I showed off my tech toys and tools during their Day of Education. The best part was seeing people sharing information and tips on using their tech

wcr: Flat Caleb Does Baltimore...Hon! - 05/04/07 10:49 PM
It was a typical Type E day for Caleb and me. It started with an early trip to the gym for a workout where Tamara who greeted us, checked us in, and said with a beautiful smile, "Enjoy your workout." Then I introduced him to my personal trainer, John Vargo, who makes my workout fun (well, maybe not so fun), challenging and never boring. He changes the routine every day. I never know what machine or exercise I will be doing next - the variety keeps me focused and holds my interest. Caleb said it was kind of tough lifting those weights with a

wcr: Technology and Being Better at What We Do - 07/08/06 06:41 PM
Technology and Being Better at What We Do Yesterday I did one of my favorite things – I shared knowledge and experience with a group of fellow real estate professionals. The Maryland State Chapter of The Women’s Council of Realtors sponsored “A Day of Education”, and I was pleased to be asked to present on “The Internet for Agents”.What realtors do is actually very low-tech – we list, sell, and get to the settlement table. That’s it. At the beginning of the session I held up a blank sheet of paper and a pen, and said that these are all I
