I recently passed by a sign at Hillcrest Elementary School in Catonsville, Maryland and it read, "Property values are directly proportionate to school Quality". As a realtor I have found this to be very true. Today's young buyers rank "Quality of Life" as their number one goal when searching for a community to live and number one on that list is the quality of the school system. I have been asked many times over the past couple of weeks, "is now a good time to buy a home" and I always reply, absolutely!
