In 1997, 1,246 acres off County Road 54 in Osceola county was used as citrus groves and pasture land or cattle grazing.  However, Developer have since purchase the property - what is now known as ChampionsGate and have since develop major hotel like Omni, along with a championship golf course and a residential community.  The area is also dominated by office space, along with commercial and shopping area.  As if that was not enough, developers has been given approval to build on their Polk county side of the once rural property.

In this slow market, many developers are finding that it is a struggle for them to find buyers for their new homes.  Despite the many incentives that they are offering buyers, there are still few takers.  Many buyers are still not impress with the free appliances, upgrades galore, or the builder pay closing cost deals.  What buyers are looking for is affordable homes.

....if it is so cold here in Florida, you can just imagine what the rest of the country are facing.  Yesterday morning, we had fross in the area.  Temperatures were in the low 20s.  Many of the areas homeless and to find shelter and are taking no chance in this weather that we are having.
Once in a while we have a freeze watch which is the case now.  However for us here, it does not last long.  The temperature will be in the twenties and you will find tourist still out golfing and wearing nothing but shorts and tee-shirts.  At the … (0 comments)

According to recent reports, the state approved growth plans for north of Davenport.  This would increase potential future development in a 16,000-acre area north of Davenport.
What does this means?  There will be tens of thousands of new homes in addition to new commercial buildings and industrial development into the area.
The county had the opportunity to appeal the state's decision however they did not challenge the state's decision.  This means that this growth to the area will come when developers are ready.

A Pennsylvania-based company 84 Lumber has moved into the area.  What does this means for the area?  Hopefully, jobs, jobs, and more jobs!!!
The building which will serves contractors opened its 5,800 square foot building in Nobember at 3777 CR 544 East.  This building is situated on 17- acres property - plenty of room for growth and currently has 16 employees and plan to increase its staff as growth continues.
84 Lumber will hold its grand opening for the Haines City area on March 13th.

  Poinciana is known as one of the fastast growing planned unit development nationwide.  Yet, it is lacking it's own medical facility.  With over 50,000 residents, the community sees the need for its medical facility.
Recently, a past chairof the Poinciana Area Council, Lili Patrick, presented Yvette Florian, office manager of primary care medical services of Poinciana, Inc with a check for $2,258.  This money came about from recent fundraising for the Medical Center on Doverplum Avenue.  Previously, the center received a bronze Recognition Tree worth close to $4,000.  The tree consists the names of those who have made donations to the … (0 comments)

Community Charged With Refusing To Sell A Home Because of Buyers' Disability...Hmmm... - 02/18/07 12:13 PM
...Florida Attorney General, Bill McCollum filed discrimination lawsuit in Circuit Court against a community in the Four Courners.  The charges states that the community unfairly refused to sell a home to a couple due to disability issues.
On February 2nd, the lawsuit was filed in Bartow and calls for injunction, as well as other statutory relief against High Vista, which is a 55+ adult community and is part of the Ridgewood Lakes.
