A new report shows the area is on the top of the market for retail investment.  Investors poured nearly $690 million into the Orlando area retail market last year and may invest much more for the coming years.
Initially, Orlando was thought of as many as a tourist town.  However, they have shaken that image with bigger retail projects.  Some of these projects includes planned residential developments and community centers.

Due to the metro area strong population growth and strong job market, Orlando is said to be the strongest area in Florida.  This is good news for the area.
Orange County's economy is expected to grow strongly through 2009 according to economist Hank Fishkind, the state's leading title-insurance underwriter.
In four counties of Metro Orlando Lake County could experience the weaker real estate rebounds.  The report notes little growth in the rate of formation of new households.  Housing starts for this area is expected to be slow through 2009.

As reported in the local paper today, according to the Orlando Regional Realtor Association (ORRA), Orlando homes are holding on to their value.  What does this means?  Despite the low number of closings that are taking place Orlando continue to hold on to its value.  Prices of homes sold in October increaced by 5.31% to $259,900.In addition, there were 1,792 existing homes which changed hands in October.  This is a decline of 24.3% when compared to October 2005.  As of October 2006, the total number of homes sold in the Orlando area were  23,581 -- in comparison to last year red-hot record-breaking market, with … (0 comments)
