Poinciana now have a new 12-complex business center which is located on 103 plus acres and the first phase of the project which consist of over 57,000 building which has showroom, office, warehouse space is now - space.  This is a welcome news for many of Poinciana Residents who previously had to travel either to downtown Kissimmee, Orlando or other places to do their shopping dining.  This is one thing that many do not mind having in their back yard. Why not jump on board?  Home Depot must have ask themselves this question.  Now they are joining the rank of others who have invested in the Poinciana area.
According to recent reports from Avatar, Home Depot have been approved by the Osceola County Commission for the development of a Home Depot retail center on 13 acres at the northeast corner of Poinciana Boulevard and State Road 17-92 in Poinciana. The site was purchased from Avatar Properties Inc. which is marketing 13 adjacent acres to developers for a complementary, family-oriented retail shopping center to better serve Poinciana's growing population.  The Home Depot will have 104,208 … (2 comments)

$49 million later and Poinciana can now welcome their new high school schedule to open in August.  It will start out with guided tours in July.  It's new principal will be Gary Preisser.
The new Liberty High School, whose nickname is the Chargers with it's school colors dark green and gold, was built on a 60-acre tract between Poinciana Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road which was donated by Avatar Properties Inc.

...thats the message from Polk County Planning Commission.  The commissioners voted 5-2 on Tuesday to deny a request by Mitchell Davis Kalogridis and Mary Ruth Baity to revise the county's growth map to change a 160-acre tract from the Rural Development Area to the Urban Development Area.
What does this means?  It would change the growth map to allow 700 homes in the area.  Officials pointed out in a recent article to the Reporter that there's enough of a backlog of public services in Poinciana.  So changing the growth map to allow more development in a rural enclave at the edge of … (0 comments)

The Central Florida Division of Avatar Properties, Inc., closed out the first nine months of 2006 with 1,160 closings for a total of $327.8 million and posted 692 new home sales for a volume of $247 million.
The division which is developing Poinciana, Solivita, Bellalago and the Isles of Bellalago averaged over 4.2 closings per day and 128.9 per month for the first three quarters, while sales for the 9-month period averaged 2.5 per day and 77 per month.
Poinciana lead the way for closings 935 homes for $237.5 million, an average of $254.011 per transaction.
