blogging for success: Marketing Is A Disciplined Sport...Who Wins If You Stop Marketing? - 08/02/12 12:54 PM
Marketing is a disciplined sport!!It could easily be considered one of the most disciplined activities in real estate. The typical reaction to a new event in real estate is high energy and plenty of enthusiasm.
How many times have you planned a program and the energy level was through the roof at the beginning of the endeavor.Every action raises the adrenaline level another notch. The first few days are electrifying.
The longer it takes for the phone to ring, the less energy and a lower the level of enthusiasm. The discipline begins to dilute. The strength and vivacity are weakening with each passing day and … (34 comments)

blogging for success: Is It Time To Give Your Blog A Check Up..Is It Tired..Stressed...Weak? - 06/21/12 02:23 PM
What does blogging mean to you?  Why do you blog?  I guess it’s fair to assume that most of us blog for SEO, but there has to be more to blogging than searching for business.  I do a decent share of blogging about our subdivisions; writing posts about our inventory; and posting my postcards to create some integrated marketing.
The above-mentioned posts are not what encourage me to continue to blog.  The phone rings and that’s great, but what seems to be more important to me and more enjoyable to me is writing posts that other agents appreciate.  We each … (44 comments)

blogging for success: How Do You Cope With Stress: Smoking-Drinking-Drugs-Blogging???? - 05/29/12 12:10 PM
We can learn a lot about people by reading what they write.  Blogging is a reflection of how we think and the attitude that we have about each topic we discuss.  Writing is a method of communicating, and communicating is synonymous with marketing.
When we market, we are connecting with people; we are publicizing information; and that conveyance of how we think and express ourselves is what leads to another real estate client.  If someone reads a post and the style and information in that post is appealing to them, they become followers of your blog and they will eventually … (62 comments)

blogging for success: Don't Let Your Marketing Get Stagnant.....Make Improvements.....Keep It Exciting - 03/27/12 11:46 AM
I met with the salesperson and the publisher of the local newspaper today, and I have to admit, I’m energized from that meeting.  Not only did I firm up my original thought of print advertising, but I doubled the exposure.
I negotiated two full pages in this newspaper.  The Kuney-Todaro Team will have the right side of the opened paper (inside back page) and RE/MAX Executive Realty in Franklin will have the left side.  That’s powerful marketing.  Open the back page, and we have both sides of the newspaper.  We'll be meeting again tomorrow to create a template to make … (31 comments)

blogging for success: "You Can't Light A Fire With A Wet Match"....Unknown Author - 01/25/12 04:30 PM
How many times have you implemented a back to basics type method?  “New agent meets a new method of closing” and it’s love at first commission check.  Why is it that only new agents willingly take advantage of the basics?  Do seasoned agents think they are above the “old school” methods and “been there, done that” kicks in?
Have you ever thought about why new agents bring energy and enthusiasm into an office?  They’re anxious to learn and when they apply what they’ve learned and win, it’s a new way of life.
The newly licensed agent is ready to blaze … (17 comments)

blogging for success: Do You Wear Your Bulletproof Vest As Stardard Attire When Blogging? - 11/21/11 12:03 PM
Blogging is a contact sport. I learned that the first month I started blogging. Whenever we communicate with each other, we have contact. With any contact sport, we can get injured. Sometimes we are gentle and other times we are not so gentle. It depends on the topic and the frame of mind of the parties involved.   Some topics are sensitive ones and may create quite an emotional stir. Others may be very controversial and result in a battle. Sometimes we need to be prepared for a response that we are not expecting.   It’s always a challenge to second … (20 comments)

blogging for success: Blogging Is Not For Everyone!!!! - 10/31/11 03:57 PM

I just read a post written by Kat DeLong titled “Lousy Grammar Just Cost You A Sale…Thanks” and it made me think about the topic of who should blog.  This is a serious problem.

How many times have you read a post that was written incorrectly? There are posts that have grammatical errors; punctuation errors; poor sentence structure and even with spell check, spelling errors.

These are posts that are read by potential clients.  The simple fact of this matter is that everyone should not blog.  How does one tell another that the blogs he/she is writing … (50 comments)

blogging for success: It's The Total Package....Use The System Consistently.....The Results Will Be Rewarding!! - 06/09/11 02:13 PM
After reading a post by Norma Toering titled "Where's the Beef in Blogging?  It's the Business...Points Are Merely the Dessert," it made me think about what drives me to spend as much time as I do, blogging on this platform.  It's not the only platform that I use.
For me, the reasons are many.  First and foremost, I want the phone to ring.  The Google juice is at the top of my list, and if it were not, I would not bother with enrolling in SEO courses and listening to webinars on that topic.  Daily attention is paid to placement of … (42 comments)

blogging for success: Blog Daily And Google Your Keywords....It's Like Checking Your Daily Lottery Numbers!! - 05/20/11 11:07 AM
How much time do you spend checking the results of your posts and the success with your keywords?  I now find myself doing Google searches everyday for keywords that I constantly use.  My goal is to gain the majority of the titles on the first page for those keywords.
Whenever I have conversation with new bloggers, they never think of checking to see where they are placed with their keyword use.  The more we blog, the better the exposure will be.  Writing one blog post about a property does not provide much mileage on the Internet.  Many different posts about a … (45 comments)

blogging for success: Are You Expanding Your Online Marketing? - 05/05/11 05:52 PM
How many different sites do you have for blogging?  When I first started blogging, I blogged exclusively on ActiveRain, until the proxy errors happened.  We always hear that everything happens for a reason.  The proxy errors and the slow system forced me to progress forward.
I set up a Wordpress blog exactly one year ago, and I previously used it occasionally.  Now, I use it every day, and  as Katerina Gasset drills into her students, Google likes reliable users.  Google wants you to be consistent with your blogging.
Recently, I started blogging on Trulia and the Google juice flows very nicely.  Today, I … (48 comments)

blogging for success: Hey Rainmaker....Is Money Pouring From The Sky??? - 04/12/11 08:36 AM
After reading a post by Lenn Harley this morning "Why do we blog day after day?" it inspired me share my thoughts.  Most of us have the Rainmaker status on ActiveRain.  Have you thought about the meaning of that word?
A Rainmaker is a person who makes things happen, an achiever.  How many of you are Rainmakers?  If you're a team leader, are you responsible for making the phone ring and providing business for your team members?  Are you the Rainmaker for your team members?  That's a huge responsibility!!
If you are not on a team, you are your own … (109 comments)

blogging for success: There's Enough Pie For Everyone....How Big Of A Piece Do You Need? - 02/27/11 07:38 AM
I read a post written by Kimberly Norgard that asked if she should invite co- workers to blog on ActiveRain.  This post was written to members only so I did not link it.   It was surprising to read some of the responses to this question.  Check it out, if you have a moment.
As I read it, I was reminded of the fact that no one in my firm invited me to join!!  I had to ask the broker/owner about blogging platforms and what blogging actually was.  I had no idea how to blog or where to blog, and he directed … (127 comments)

blogging for success: Clients And Google....Two Of Our Most Important Business Entities - 01/18/11 01:57 PM
There's an old adage that states "out of sight, out of mind" and that's the quickest way for one's real estate business to reach its demise.  If an agent is not advertising properly and Internet exposure is sporadic, fasten your seat belt for the consequences.
How long will it take for an agent to be forgotten?  I've seen agents retire and many months later, I can't remember their names!!!  The timeline is brief.  My direct mail marketing has been in existence for decades, and to this day, I'm paranoid about missing a month.
Now that blogging is a daily part of … (21 comments)

blogging for success: The Rolling Stones Said "Time Is On Your Side" - I Disagree - 12/21/10 10:16 AM
The real estate market is always the last to rally.  Our efforts need to reflect that statement.  Internet marketing is our saving grace.  Without it, we would be spending money every month to make the phone ring.
Our office is now blogging for business, and I expect many more real estate offices in the future to take on that task.  It's the best method today to make the phone ring.  When I finish my Monday blogging of inventory, I always feel that I need to do more, and because of that thought, I blog on two sites now.  Google gives me … (53 comments)

blogging for success: "A Rich Man Is Nothing But A Poor Man With Money"...WC Fields - 11/27/10 02:48 PM
We are working in an insecure business. We have no pension, retirement or medical benefits unless we provide them for ourselves.  We are in a business that requires us to rely on ourselves for everything including making the phone ring.  We are constantly hearing and living by the phrase "if it doesn't kill you, it'll make you stronger."
The ten and twelve hour day is typical in our profession.  In the real estate industry, we need to devote time, effort and energy into doing whatever it takes to make the phone ring.  Blogging is one proven method that will make the … (99 comments)

blogging for success: Google........You'll Be Seeing Alot Of Me Very Soon !!! - 10/15/10 08:54 AM
Sharing is a good thing, and I'm so excited today about my next step upward with blogging.  Yesterday, I spoke to Katerina Gasset, and I'm registered for her course on "SEO to the Top."  There is nothing that I want to do more than to know what I'm doing when I blog!!
Blogging has been a "learn as you go" adventure for me, and there is so much missing.  Now, I have the opportunity to learn the correct way to blog from step one.
The members of ActiveRain are very fortunate to have this available to them for pennies.  Katerina has … (79 comments)

blogging for success: Blogged Yet Today??? - 08/26/10 03:14 PM
What have you accomplished with your marketing today?  I prepared a "just sold" postcard for a listing that Lorraine Kuney is closing on tomorrow.  I posted two open house blogs on ActiveRain this morning plus a narrative about "discount brokers" and this post.
Then, I posted two different open house blogs on www.franklinmanewhomes.com which is my Wordpress blogging site.  So that's one postcard and six blog posts.  The open house blogs are the top four titles with a Google search for "open house august 29 franklin ma."
My day was a productive day, and it's only 3:00 p.m.!!  I have enough time … (25 comments)

blogging for success: A Rewarding Milestone on ActiveRain..... - 08/14/10 09:39 AM
Recently there have been a few posts about singing out, loudly and clearly about milestones achieved by working diligently on ActiveRain.  I have done that in the past when I reached a certain level of points and posts and comments, etc.  It just occurred to me that the most important milestone that can be achieved is the continual increase in the number of inquiries from potential future buyers.
Last evening I decided to log on again, and there was an inquiry from a potential buyer for an active adult community in Franklin MA.  This is buyer number 7 that I have received … (52 comments)

blogging for success: The Key To A Successful Open House Event......BLOG IT. - 08/09/10 12:31 PM

My team members held three open house events on Sunday, and all three were very successful happenings.  The number of visitors totaled thirty-eight individuals (19 couples.)  This was an ideal turnout at all of the properties, and from that attendance, we expect two or three transactions in the very near future.  There were two couples from that group who were directed to our open house via their buyers' agent.  The remaining attended from finding the open house blogs from a Google search.  How good is that??
Open house events have been a blessing for my team members.  They require … (177 comments)

blogging for success: Will You Soar With The Eagles Or Fly With The Turkeys ?? - 08/07/10 08:51 AM
Real estate agents are at the mercy of whatever the current economic state may be.  Currently, we're between a rock and a hard place.  Interest rates are at an all time low.  However, unemployment is our road block to success.  Our only course of action now, as I see it, is to continue to market and attract the attention of those who are capable and qualified to participate in the real estate market.
Blogging is now, and will be in the future, your saving grace.  It costs you pennies every day, and if you have any common sense, you will participate … (24 comments)
