BEFORE AND AFTER...WITH A TWIST !!!
HOME STYLE AND STAGING recently did a staging where the owner had done some of the staging before I was asked to come into the project.
So this Before and After is BEFORE what the owner did, and the AFTER is what HOME STYLE AND STAGING was able to do with the space, this I feel is why staging should be left to the professionals. Got to hand it to them, they did try, more than I can say for some.

HOME STYLE AND STAGING just recently hit the 100,000 points mark !!!
Then I discovered that I am in the top 50 in points for HOME STAGERS for all states.... I knew that I could look up and see my rating in my
own state ( Which I am # 2 ) just figured out how to look that up...( Yes I am a little slow !!! )
So here I go Patting myself on the back AGAIN....I find something new out everyday on ACTIVERAIN...

The ASHSR (AMERICAN SOCIETY OF STAGERS AND RE DESIGNERS) of East Tennessee, will be having their quarterly meeting May 26, 2010 (Wednesday) at the Copper Cellar, Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN.
The meeting will be centered around marketing, do's and don'ts. We will be discussing what has worked and what has not. If you should have any ideas, hints etc that you would like to share please do so.

DE-CLUTTERING A CLOSET THE HOME STYLE AND STAGING WAY, yes we have own way here at HOME STYLE AND STAGING on how we de-clutter a closet.
We start with 3 large boxes or large black garbage bags ( depending on the size of the closet ). They are marked "PUT BACK", "GIVE AWAY OR YARD SALE" and the last one 'WHAT WAS I THINKING".

As a stager, I get asked to do a lot of different things, however, yesterday it was not all about the accessories and the furniture and where I should place what and where. I was working with a good friend who is a Realtor ( actually I was trying to set her up on Active Rain, never could get it to work, but that is another story )... I have a problem on my hands...or rather should I say over my head ?
Home Style and Staging recently did a "Walk Thu" and one of the recommendations that I made was to paint the trey ceiling in the kitchen and eat in kitchen. The ceiling is very low and needs to show some height. Well, now I need to know just how to make that work. HOME STYLE AND STAGING does its share of moving, lifting, packing and unpacking !!!
However, when given the chance I will jump at the chance to be turned loose in a store with $5,000 !! Well who wouldn't?? But if that doesn't happen, I will be just as happy ( well almost ) as being able to stage a home where the owner is moving out, and leaves some things for me to stage with.

however, I have no idea if this is pulling customers to my site.
I have a FACEBOOK page for HOME STYLE AND STAGING and have over 250 friends. I have found that most of the "Friends" are other stagers from other cities. So how is this getting my name out there to future customers ?

Recently, I was at a location where the owner of a new shop had asked her friend, who I might add, has no training in re-design, staging or design. So I am standing there, not saying a word (which for me is somewhat odd ). She was trying to arrange a lobby that had too much furniture and a rug that could not fit going straight from one side to the other without being way off center. Wall Words are a new accessory for walls now, I have used in my home and also in a staging in a limited space.
This was small powder room we staged in 2009
Then I came across this the other day and just had to share with you, this is very bold and "out there" would not use in staging for sure, but would you use in any re-design ? For you re-designers out there. The ceilings are very high, so guess that they were trying to bring the room in...

RED RED AND THEN THERE IS MORE RED !!!!!!
This is a very small powder room, which now is painted a wild and bright shade of RED. I am in the process of working something up for this client. They may or may not sell their home. So I want a paint color that they will love to have in their home if they do not sale, and will need a paint color if they decide to put the home on the market so that the buyer will love it...DECISIONS DECISIONS !!!! The staging here is East Tennessee is a little slow right now, so I had to come up with another way to use my skills ( and passion for decorating ) to pay the bills. I marketed HOME STYLE AND STAGING LLC as not only a staging and re-design company but as HOLIDAY DECORATING. I did some Fall Decorating and now doing some trees. This tree I used what they had and the outcome was very nice, I re-did the wreaths that they already had, by purchasing new ribbon. So thought that I would share this with you.

I have finally finished the insert on the fireplace, after taking everyones advice and painting it pewter.
MY FIREPLACE "RE-DO" BEFORE AND AFTERS ( About time I know !!!) However, it was my fireplace and was not done as a staging job, but wanted to share with you so in case you ever needed to update a fireplace. What a total difference that it made. Thanks to all who gave me great suggestions.

IT IS FINALLY FALL Y'ALL IN EAST TENNESSEE
The staging here in East Tennessee is slow for me, anyways, right now. So to help my pocketbook I decided to do some HOLIDAY DECORATING, something that I have done for years for free for my family and friends. So, now YES I will come and decorate but you have to pay me..works every time..I am loving doing it and loving making the money during these slow times. I recently staged a home where I had to work with what the homeowner already had ( budget was tight ). They had several pillows on the bed and I took several off and still feel that maybe just maybe I had too many. I know that several months ago someone placed a post about too many pillows.
