GOT A RE-DESIGN JOB BECAUSE OF MY LINEN CLOSET...
HOME STYLE AND STAGING was contacted last week because someone saw on FaceBook where a friend of mine had posted a photo of my linen closet. Yes, I am kind of a neat freak...and they were probably poking alittle fun at me, but what the heck it produced a re-design job for me....
So I guess sometimes it pays to be alittle neat .....

MY VERY FIRST JOB AS A HOME STAGER, was not only a staging job but turned out to be something alot more. I had just completed my on-line course with HOME STAGING RESOURCE, reading everything that I could get my hands on, learning how to market myself, etc.
HOME STYLE AND STAGING WAS OPEN AND READY FOR BUSINESS !!!
I went to my local market where they have the free books for buyers to pickup and see the homes that are for sale,etc. My daughter and I came home sat down and entered every Realtor in our area in my address book … (15 comments)

A couple of weeks ago I posted photos of a chocolate brown bathroom that I had just recently done.

I have once again used the same color on a small bathroom that was very outdated. The tile could not be removed as it was not in the budget. The color of the tile was a very dated sage green. HOME STYLE AND STAGING got taken for a ride the other day and I was not even in a car !!!!
I received a call from a "Flipper" that had just recently completed a home and needed to have it staged as soon as possible. Like yesterday, as he wanted to get it on the market "NOW". He asked if I could give him a quick quote over the phone, I know better and I did it anyway.

THE NEW COLOR TREND FOR 2010 WAS ANNOUNCED IN DECEMBER BY PANTONE LLC.
It's back. Call it turquoise or a bluer version of seafoam but it's back. Resurrected from the '70s, turquoise is popping up everywhere from bathrooms to master bedrooms, to kitchens.
In my re-design, whenever I run across the turquoise tiles in the bathroom or the kitchen, instead of taking them down I work with them..I have even add red to the color scheme. Using White Towels in the bath with black accents gives the room a pop...

We had to update an outdated kitchen to get the property ready to sell. We did knock out a small wall which to our surprise produced a brick wall. Which added uniqueness to the small kitchen area. The project took about 3 weeks, with the help of the owner and their friends the work was completed on time and on budget. We shopped for sale items and the counter tops were done in granite tiles instead of solid as this saved money and time. The floor was done in slate tiles. New appliances were added. I did a declutter last week for a friend of mine and even though she thought that she needed to declutter it was NOT as cluttered as some that I have seen. I wish that they all could be this easy. When we got into the moving things out we also made changes all through the house. We changed out art work from one room to another, etc. Gave the home a new look all together. I guess that I am one of the fortunate ones...I received a call from a lady whose home had been on the market for almost a year. She needed a stager FAST.... I am just the person I was eager to inform her...( No ego here !!) The staging job was fast and simple, just some moving here and there...paint had already been done..my job was sooooo simple.

Thought that I would share with you a LITTLE project that I did last weekend. My fireplace was brick (ugly colored brick) so thought that I would jazz it up alittle...I primed the brick with Kilz, that was a pain..The brick was uneven and gaps between the brick so had to use a very small paint brush...took forever...
So here is the end result...I am really proud of it and think that the outcome was worth the work !!! The photo is alittle dark...but it is painted a semi-gloss black... Now I have to find a fireplace screen..Thought of taking this off and … (10 comments)

This is a high value home and the builder had completed the home several months ago. In fact he was actually living in the home and trying to sell at the same time. The budget was small on this one, so basically we did vignette staging in several rooms, just to give a lived in feeling for an open house.
I know the photos are not well done but you can see what we did, what do you think, did we accomplish what we tried to do, in your opinion?

I remember when I was just starting out on this venture. Starting my own business, not knowing what to do or better yet how to do it !!! I had questions and more questions. I decided to get my training at HSR and realized right away that I had made the right decision to sign with them. I was singing at the top of my voice !!!! It has really paid off...I get referrals from the HSR website and lots of weekly information from HSR... So that is how HOME STYLE AND STAGING LLC was born....

I have received an e-mail from Gina McNew on the continuing story of the commode covers. Gina sent me the link to COMMODE COVER TATTOS, YES, you read it correctly, it seems that instead of a "germy" , "nasty" cloth commode cover you can now have the luxury of a beauiful print or color tattoed right on the commode cover. I absolutely cannot wait to show this to you..Liberace would have loved this bath !!! He would have loved to had his piano in there. Complete with gold wall paper on the ceiling, the brass fixtures, and matching tile in the bath and on the floor. It made you dizzy just to walk into the room.
