Florida's Red Shouldered Hawk...... .....is a fairly common sight in Florida's wetland areas where small prey abounds. I've been witness to this bird munching on a..........well.....a snake, which I shared in this post DinnerTime in Florida's Wetlands The dribble you see is snake guts........what can I say, it is what it is. A very photographic bird with a keen eye and razor sharp beak, content to just sit, watch, wait...........then pounce. Not here though, this is just a nice pic with no gore!!!

Images from the Hubble Telescope at the Kennedy Space Center Titusville FL Last week I re-visited the Kennedy Space Center located right here in Titusville Florida NASA...Shuttles...Rockets...Astronauts....Kennedy Space Center....all reasons we are known as Florida's Space Coast. It had been 5 or 6 years since my last visit and I must say it's pretty impressive. Security was tight but not oppressive, and...several new features have been added. There are 2 IMAX theaters. One featuring Man's Moon Missions, the other a close encounter with the Space Station.........both excellent productions lasting 40-45 minutes. There is a place where MAGIC still lives and has the power to capture our souls through the majesty of setting. If I could imagine a forest where Elves, Fairies and Unicorns dwell it would surely be Pisgah National Forest in Western North Carolina. These falls, aptly named "Looking Glass Waterfall", afford one the experience of getting behind the falls providing a unique view through the veil of cascading water. Very lovely!

Regina Brett wrote this piece for her column in The Plain Dealer paper, Cleveland Ohio. Some emails are going around saying it was written when her odometer rolled90 years old. Of course, I did a little double checking and find out that the lessons she learned were appreciated by the time she turned "50". I'd say Regina has learned her lessons well. As you know the Shuttle program ends in 2010. If you haven't had the opportunity to view this spectacular event, there are a few more launches scheduled before the program terminates. I'll list them for you so you can plan ahead of time. Hotel rooms on the Space Coast become very coveted during lauches; it's wise to plan months in advance if possible
NOTE: Have a backup plan as launches are notorius for being cancelled. Perhaps consider the Theme Parks, our wonderful beaches or plan on touring some of our amazing Nature Preserves.

Photo taken at Blue Heron Wetlands, a water reclamation project in Titusville FL. He was just resting at the side of the road and not bothered, in the least, by my presence. I was about 6-8 from him so zoom wasn't necessary. I was totally intrigued by THE EYE!!!
