Friday Foto - You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours! - 11/18/11 11:27 PM
I took this of my two girls last month when the sun was still out. They are so funny, they must spend at least an hour every day scratching each other. Tinkerbell, the bay 2 year old Warmblood in back and Violet, a 5 year old Friesian in the front. Now that the weather has turned, they wear their cozy turnouts (think coats for you non horse people) all day, so no wither scratching.

Not all Oregon Horse People are the same. Warning - blurred images are disturbing. - 11/18/11 01:03 PM
Not all Oregon Horse People are the same. Warning - blurred images are disturbing. Please believe me when I tell you that this unique story that broke on the news yesterday is not typical of Oregon horse owners. If you read the comments on several news blogs and social media sites that have re-posted the article, you will see how outraged the Oregon Horse Community is. Utterly disgusting. Appearantly this young 21 year old girl and her boyfriend had to put the aged horse down, that part is quite normal. But, here is where the story gets a little weird.

Here's the dirt on Dirt Roads - 11/17/11 11:51 PM
Fellow equestrian agent in Anna in Florida wrote this great article about living off of a dirt road, especially if you have horses. The article made me reflect on many acreage home buyers over the years. Some people just absolutely have to have a paved road, while others could care less. Around here, property taxes are usually higher if the roads are paved. The sign used in the blog below was created by http://www.campgroundsigns.com/Horse-Sign/Slow-Horses-On-Road-Sign/SKU-K-6679.aspx Via Anna Niehaus (Saddle Trail Realty): People who live on dirt roads are fully aware of the fact that they bought a house on a dirt road! Let's start a new tradition this Christmas! - 11/11/11 05:51 PM
Love this idea! Please support America and American jobs! Keep your money here in the states. Another fellow agent shared a list of sites that exclusively sell American made products. I urge you to do your shopping with these companies first. http://www.allamericanclothing.com/ http://www.stillmadeinusa.com/ http://madeinusaforever.com/ http://www.americanmadeheroes.com/AMH-companies.html http://made-in.us.com/ http://americansworking.com/ I really like the idea of buying from your locally owned stores first. But, if you can't find what you want, try these American sites next. You just might be saving a job in your community! Cherish Every Moment - 11/01/11 08:20 PM
This afternoon I received a phone call from dear friend. Her horse had been running full speed in the pasture and fell. She did not step in a hole, her leg simply snapped. At first I did not believe it. My denial quickly turned into sadness. I couldn't help but cry. The vet was already on the way, she had given the horse something to ease her pain. She even brought another horse over to stand next to her to keep her calm. Just yesterday she had a great ride on the horse. I am glad she has that memory
