Bush Administration Announces FHASecure Initiative to Assist Homeowners
On Friday, August 31, 2007, President George W. Bush announced a new Federal Housing Administration ("FHA") initiative - FHASecure - that will assist nearly one-quarter of a million homeowners refinance and keep their homes.  FHASecure is a temporary program (all loan applications must be signed no later than December 31, 2008) designed to provide refinancing opportunities to homeowners and to increase liquidity in the mortgage market.  Under FHASecure, homeowners with strong credit histories who had been making timely mortgage payments before their loans reset, but are now in default, will be eligible for refinancing.

MDA Lockup at Quest Field - 09/04/07 05:47 PM
On August 9, 2007 the Muscular Dystrophy Association held their biggest Lockup for the year raising over $140,000.  The traditional theme is to arrest the participant and bring them in to jail for Lockup until they raise their goal.  No, you don't really go to jail.  Nor are you forced to stay.  If anyone ever has the opportunity to participate, I highly suggest it.  It is a ton of fun, great food, helpful Fire Fighters!

Food Drive in Rose Hill, Kirkland, WA - 09/04/07 05:17 PM
Last month I partnered with Jonerik Johnson, to facilitate a Food Drive for Hopelink.  Jonerik is a Realtor and takes an active role in the PTA in our community.  He was aware that many school children receive free breakfast and lunch during the school year, but then go hungry in the summer without support.  This paired with the shortage at the food bank due to most donations coming in during the holidays motivated his idea to do a Food Drive in our community.
