We have been members with activerain for some time but I can't say we have been very active.  That is, up until now.  The reason we have had a change of heart is our new commitment to our sellers. Starting from now on, (February 2011), we will be active bloggers.

This change of heart came from our recent research on the benefits of blogging that proved our listings would get more exposure as a result of consistently posting on the various blog formats.

According to the National Association of Realtors Member Profile 2010

The use of blogs has steadily increased as a marketing tool for real estate agents. 

One in ten members of the National Association of Realtors reported having a real estate blog.  In 2009, 7% of members reported having a blog.

Of those that do have blogs: 5% blog on a daily or nearly every day, 5% a few times a week, 9% a few times a month, 7% a few times a year. Finally, 74% rarely posted on their blogs.

In our market, very few agents even have a blog,  None of the local agents are leveraging their blogs to benefit their clients.
