Yep, you read that right, a study by McCrindle Research on the top 10 baby names in Australia found an interesting trend among Generation X. To close our Haunted House series we’ve found one home with a twisted sorted past, 112 Ocean Ave. This famous house in Long Island has two separate tales of horror, a family tragically murdered while sleeping and a tale of supernatural activity driving a family insane.

In the year 1902 James Grant, independently wealthy from owning his own smelting company would build what is known today as the Grant-Humphreys mansion. The mansion is a three story, 30 room palace architecturally inspired by the European Renaissance, with 20 foot pillars lining the entrance. Grant would become the third governor of Colorado (1883-1885) and was known for his social activities around town, entertaining the wealthy and influential in his home.

Last Thursday we wrote a post on San Francisco’s earthquake alert system (Read it here). A reader informed us about the national SMS emergency alert system (thanks Sean).
