New England gets hit with a Blizzard in October!
It was hard to believe when I first heard it... A big Nor' Easter was headed for New England, the weekend BEFORE Halloween!
I think I, like most just figured it was a lot of fuss over nothing. After all, it is OCTOBER. We are still playing Fall baseball here in Prospect. Well believe it or not, the Weather Men were RIGHT. If anything, they under estimated. The last time we checked on the porch it was 12+ inches.

Well the weather men were finally Right. They said we were getting snow, and LOTS of it. They predicted 12"-18" and we ended up with 28"-30" here is Prospect and across most of Prospect. I took a quick ride around Prospect and snapped some photos. It was the most snow in a 24 hour period since 1888. yes EIGHTEEN Eighty Eight!
It started last night about 10pm and snowed until just about lunch time here today. Almost everything in the Prospect and Connecticut for that matter, was closed. Here in Prospect Olivers opened late, CVS was open, the Sunoco Station, Mobile and … (1 comments)

Well I guess we all knew it was coming, and I guess since we are New Englander's we are lucky it took this long. The first snow of the season hit our section of Central Connecticut. Most of the Neighboring towns of Cheshire, Naugatuck and Waterbury had light accumulation like 1-3". Prospect had twice that, after all the "Town on the Hill" always seems to get harder hit.

I am optimistic for Successful 2008 Real Estate Market in Prospect, CT. As of today January 12th there are only 53 active homes listed on our MLS. There are also 5 that have deposits. Since inventory is down it is a great time to list. It is still very important to practice intelligent pricing since the average days on market of the other 53 listings is well over 3 months. Another interesting thing is the average list price of a home in Prospect is $401,000. The most active market in Prospect has consistently been the $275,000 - $325,000 segment.
