Willow West is located in Dayton, Virginia, which is a few miles south of Harrisonburg, actually, but many residents commute the short drive to Harrisonburg for work. This neighborhood is tucked away on the northwest side of the Town of Dayton, and consists of two quiet streets — Willow Drive and Northview Street — each ending in a cul de sac.

virginia: Massanetta Springs Neighborhood in Harrisonburg, Virginia - 09/13/11 12:44 PM
Massanetta Springs was established in the early 1920s. The community arose out of the Presbyterian church’s desire to house families attending the Massanetta Springs Conference Center. Gradually, the homes were sold to private individuals and in 1999, the community incorporated as a separate residential entity. Today, residents may still enjoy the amenities the conference center has to offer. They can also make use of the swimming pool, basketball court, ball fields, walking trails, and boat rentals.

virginia: Rockingham County Earns Strong "AA" Rating from Fitch Ratings - 09/09/11 02:59 PM
Fitch Ratings, a research and data analysis company headquartered in both New York and London, did some comprehensive studies on Rockingham County and gave an “AA” rating to our locale. This grade is second on the rating scale — from “AAA” to “D” — and means Rockingham County has very high credit quality. In fact, according to Fitch Ratings, “‘AA’ ratings denote expectations of very low default risk. They indicate very strong capacity for payment of financial commitments. This capacity is not significantly vulnerable to foreseeable events.”

virginia: Harrisonburg Area Real Estate Market Report: August 2011 - 09/09/11 02:34 PM
For the past few months, we’ve been reporting that the Harrisonburg and Rockingham County real estate market is on the verge of some positive movement. In July, we saw that most of the June contracts hadn’t closed yet, and that sales year-over-year were down 6%. Well, the August numbers are in, and this month’s sales were up, and the year-to-date sales significantly increased as well, bringing that -6% to -2%. (The gap is closing!) virginia: How The Economic Recovery Act Will "Stimulate" Virginia And Real Estate - 02/05/09 03:21 PM
There is a lot of buzz going around about the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Some say it is all about PR, but there is more to it than that, especially with regards to the real estate industry.
For the Commonwealth of Virginia, if this bill does indeed pass, the benefits include creating or saving 99,000 jobs over the next two years, tax cuts, and savings in health care. To read more about how this act will stimulate Virginia, click here.

virginia: Harrisonburg Claims Highest Job Growth Rate for Virginia - 12/19/08 10:04 PM
The Virginia Employment Commission published a press release today with numbers for job growth throughout the Commonwealth. Harrisonburg tops the list with 1.9 percent growth from October 2007 to October 2008, or 1,200 to 66,000 jobs. Most of the job growth in our area is due to James Madison University and other service-providing entities.
Other locations on the list were Virginia Beach/Norfolk Area with 1.8 percent growth, Lynchburg with 1.8 percent growth, and Northern Virginia with 0.8 percent growth.
