Tax-Exempt Organizations Can Preserve Exempt Status by Filing Returns by October 15 Due Date - 10/12/10 02:51 PM
Tax-Exempt Organizations Can Preserve Exempt Status by Filing Returns by October 15 Due Date A crucial filing deadline of October 15 is looming for many tax-exempt organizations. Most tax-exempt organizations, other than churches, must file an annual return or electronic notice (Form 990-N) with the IRS. If an organization does not file as required for three consecutive years, the law provides that it automatically loses its tax-exempt status. Small nonprofit organizations at risk of losing their tax-exempt status because they failed to file required returns for 2007, 2008, and 2009 can preserve their status by filing returns by October 15, 2010 under a one-time relief program. I would like to see my kid graduate from college but would this mean that the government will discourage kids from completing college or from applying for scholarships. (0 comments)

BREAKING NEWS...BoA, National Foreclosure Moratorium...ALL Foreclosures Halted - 10/08/10 03:56 PM
BREAKING NEWS...BoA, National Foreclosure Moratorium...ALL Foreclosures Halted By this time next week expect there to be a nationwide foreclosure moratorium. That moratorium will last...best guess...a few weeks. Long time HREU students will remember there have been foreclosure moratoriums implemented now and then since the bubble popped. Now what, what does this mean to you? Honestly, not much. Fact is that these homes have to be sold. The FHA (in a PR today) said the average ‘owner' is staying in their home payment free for 18 months before actually having to move because of the foreclosure sale. So, with this robo-signers mess (1 comments)
