Tax-Exempt Organizations Can Preserve Exempt Status by Filing Returns by October 15 Due Date - 10/12/10 02:51 PM
Tax-Exempt Organizations Can Preserve Exempt Status by Filing Returns by October 15 Due Date
A crucial filing deadline of October 15 is looming for many tax-exempt organizations.  Most tax-exempt organizations, other than churches, must file an annual return or electronic notice (Form 990-N) with the IRS. If an organization does not file as required for three consecutive years, the law provides that it automatically loses its tax-exempt status.
Small nonprofit organizations at risk of losing their tax-exempt status because they failed to file required returns for 2007, 2008, and 2009 can preserve their status by filing returns by October 15, 2010 under a one-time relief program.  Two types of relief … (0 comments)

Amazing! I would like to see my kid graduate from college but would this mean that the government will discourage kids from completing college or from applying for scholarships.

MARYLAND to Possibly Halt all Foreclosures in the State for at Least 60 days
This is some serious stuff coming down the pipeline.
Just read an article stating that Maryland Representatives are asking a judge to halt all Foreclosures in the State of Maryland for at least 60 days or so.
According to the article, there's evidence that employees and attorneys from mortgage companies have signed Foreclosure documents without reading and verifying information

So, what does this mean for our business???

BREAKING NEWS...BoA, National Foreclosure Moratorium...ALL Foreclosures Halted - 10/08/10 03:56 PM
BREAKING NEWS...BoA, National Foreclosure Moratorium...ALL Foreclosures Halted
By this time next week expect there to be a nationwide foreclosure moratorium. That moratorium will last...best guess...a few weeks.
Long time HREU students will remember there have been foreclosure moratoriums implemented now and then since the bubble popped.
Now what, what does this mean to you?
Honestly, not much.
Fact is that these homes have to be sold. The FHA (in a PR today) said the average ‘owner' is staying in their home payment free for 18 months before actually having to move because of the foreclosure sale. So, with this robo-signers mess … (1 comments)
