This statement has never been so well demonstrated as by the former governor of New York, Elliot Spitzer. His inner unsatisfied urges that he was unable to fulfill were resisted. Everything we resist within ourselves is always and automatically put in our inner dumping grounds, called the shadow, a.k.a: the dark side.
