georgia home inspections: Atlanta Home Inspector says "You can increase your business by doing this simple thing" - 05/08/08 10:09 AM
So often I hear the word "blessed" and automatically my mind travels to the financial aspect of it. But I really have been thinking about this lately and I let my mind go on a whole different avenue. You see, David and I have so many things in our life right now that causes us to think that we are very blessed, right now one of those things is a fifteen year old son, whom David and I trust completely, because he has proved himself time and time again to be responsible and trust worthy, but not only that, even at the age of 15 he

I don't know about you but after reading the info below I think I'm definately going to have to get out the feather duster. I have this really great feather duster from Flylady.net and it does a fantastic job when I've got it in my hand instead of typing here at this computer. “House dust is one of the most prevalent – and unavoidable – allergy triggers in any home,” says Dr. Berger. “Since you can’t control the allergens outside your home, dusting is just one of the several easy steps you can take to allergy-proof the inside.”Don’t Sleep on ItYou

georgia home inspections: What a great week of Revival at World Harvest Church in Ball Ground - 05/01/08 10:02 AM
If it seems like we were missing in action, It is because we have been. We have been busy during the day with home inspections and Sunday night started revival at World Harvest Church in Ball Ground. With everything that went on we have had very little time to post. On Monday night, Bishop Lance Johnson preached on a topic called false dependencies. This really got me to thinking about, what are we dependent on? Are we dependent on ourselves, our economy and our abilities to help us make it in life, or are we dependent on the one that created us to begin with. I

Well everyone, I finally got our new customized active rain header and everything done. I would love to say "that it only took the 30 minutes or so to get it done, but no such luck. I've worked on this off and on all day and I'm still not sure that I like it that well. If you have time, stop by and tell me what you think. Do you think I should have gone with just a standard picture or is the picture that I used okay. The problem I had was with the size of the custom header and finding a

So here you go, a little almost Friday humor. Now if you're blonde and get offended, please just smile and go on, it'll be okay. I use to tell people the only way I would get offended with a joke is if it was true. LOL What is a 710? A few days ago I was having some work done at my local garage. A blonde

Now that I got every real eastate agents "Minds in a tizzy" I'll finish my statement from above. Atlanta Home Inspector gives you several reasons why you should never buy a new home without a home inspection. So many times we think we're getting the best home possible without the issues that an older home would have. I mean, let's face it "it's a brand new roof, and a reputable builder with great contractors." Well I just had the priviledge of inspecting another brand new home and one of the main issues was the painters failed to finish painting the area around the

georgia home inspections: I personally think it’s just a waste of time, but that’s just my opinion! - 04/23/08 10:20 AM
The other day I was talking with a guy and his wife happens to be a Realtor. I was asking him how she is doing and he quickly goes into the slow market thing. I sat there listening to all that he was saying and all the negative comments made me think. How many of us are in the process of stopping our prosperity right in the middle of it heading our way. How many times do we say "Oh Lord, You're going to have to help us out of this situation only to turn around and put a halt to

georgia home inspections: Laughter is great medicine. Sunday funnies. - 04/20/08 09:52 PM
A mom was concerned about her kindergarten son walking to school. He didn't want his mother to walk with him. She wanted to give him the feeling that he had some independence but yet know that he was safe. So she had an idea of how to handle it. She asked a neighbor if she would please follow him to school in the mornings, staying at a distance, so he probably wouldn't notice her. She said that since she was up early with her toddler anyway, it would be a good way for them to get some exercise as well, so

georgia home inspections: Alpharetta Home Inspector says "Time to clean the gutters..." - 04/15/08 09:23 PM
As an Atlanta home inspector, I like to give tips on the best ways to maintain your property. This time, I want to talk to you about your gutters and downspouts. They should be cleaned and inspected at least semi-annually. Typically the best times to tackle the job or spring and fall. The reason that you need to keep your gutters cleaned out is because when their full and backed up, flooding can occur as well as roof leaks caused by water seepage. There's no easy way to tackle this job and if you're not a really great do-it-yourselfer there are professional companies that

georgia home inspections: Should I use Double Key Deadbolt locks on my doors? - 04/14/08 10:12 PM
As an Atlanta Home Inspector here is a question that we received form a home owner: We have double key deadbolt locks on our doors. Are these safe or should we replace the double key deadbolt locks with single key deadbolt locks? Answer:Double key deadbolt locks present a serious safety issue to household occupants in the event of a fire. First, in the event of a fire you won't be able to find the key. And secondly, in a fire the clear air is no more than eighteen inches above the floor but the lock is typically installed about forty
