I know that as real estate agents, you get ask all the time by the homeowners the age old question of "How long is my (you fill in here) going to last?  How long can I expect my dishwasher to last or what about the roof.  The average home owner wants to know the average life expectancy of these normal house hold components and they  expect you to know the answer. Trust your Tools! 
Every body has a different set of tools and must have common knowledge of how to use them.  If you're about to start a framing project you wouldn't use a trim hammer.  You want to use the right tool for the job.

What is the life expectancy of an average roof ?
A builders grade 3 tab shingle, on average lasts  15-18 years.
This can vary due to different climates, quality of shingles, quality of installation and even the pitch of the roof.
What is a Profile Shingle ?
 A Profile shingle is a laminate shingle or an architectural shingle.
 A profile shingle on a finished roof has 7 layers and is rated for 110 mph winds.

About an hour ago I checked and there was only about 1,300 people on-line compared to the 3724 on-line now and when I looked to see who was actually on activerain there was only about 130 on AR.  Now that the football game is over there is 226 logged in and climbing.  It's funny to watch what's going on and how active everything is.  I do believe there is some AR Addicts out there and I'm quickly becoming one. :-)

As a Georgia Home Inspector I do radon testing and most people don't know what it is nor do they know the risk that it causes.  Radon is a cancer-causing natural radioactive gas that you can't see, smell or taste. Its presence in your home can pose a danger to your family's health.
