There is nothing more embarrassing than being out on the dance floor and having your dance partner just all of the sudden leave you hanging. Now I bet you're wondering what this has to do with Real estate, right?  As an Atlanta Home Inspector we often see home buyers who are in love with the home, only to fall out of love with it during the middle of the dance because of issues found in the home inspection report.  So many times this could have been prevented by simply having the home inspected when it was going on the market.

I know that as real estate agents, you get ask all the time by the homeowners the age old question of "How long is my (you fill in here) going to last?  How long can I expect my dishwasher to last or what about the roof.  The average home owner wants to know the average life expectancy of these normal house hold components and they  expect you to know the answer. As an Atlanta Home Inspector, in this market I have been wondering at what point do you throw in the towel on a home with problems? Or better yet, are you even allowed to throw in the towel?  There is some things that I just don't understand and one of those things is "Why more people don't get a pre-listing inspection done on a home before doing all that you do?"  It seems to me and of course this is just my opinion, but it seems like people go about this a little backwards.

Folks, let's face it in the south these are fightin' words and it doesn't matter if your're talking about their child, their car or their house.    Either way if you say anything wrong, there's going to be trouble, especially if you are a home inspector.
