Located near southeast Ohio's famous Hocking Hills Region, the gated resort community of Hide-A-Way Hills features plenty of annual events, and probably the biggest gathering of the year is the Dam Jam.  This year saw what's considered to be the event's largest turnout ever, with as many as an estimated five-hundred members, family, and friends celebrating a summer evening beneath the Lake of the Four Seasons.  A hog roast serves as the main course, and members bring along a covered dish to share as well....so there's certainly no reason to go hungry.  This year, the Social Committee added some great extra attractions, including a moon bounce and face … (0 comments)

You might not find it on basic online highway maps of Ohio, but if you're not in a rush to travel from southwest Ohio or the Cincinnati area across and up to the Hocking Hills, consider taking Route 32 (off Route 275 in the Newtown/Batavia area).  It's a laid-back sort of homage to the way 4-lanes used to be, and runs through some of the prettiest countryside you'll see in the state. Father's Day Weekend events and specials at Hide-A-Way Hills:  Jumbo Diver Scallops at the Lodge Friday and Saturday...live music w/Reid Coleman Saturday night...Lodge will also open Sunday for Father's Day and an Indoor Grill, from 11am - 3pm (public invited, reservations at 740-569-7944).  Also, the annual HAH softball game, this year matching the "Young Upstarts" against the "The Old Codgers," is a real happening on Saturday, June 20 at 2pm.

When you're touring the Hocking Hills during the upcoming high seasons, make a stop in downtown Logan for plenty of colorful reasons.  As part of "Logan In Bloom" (spurred by the national America In Bloom non-profit organization), Logan High School students have created flags of varied flowers to help add color and character to downtown Logan.  The flags were auctioned at the spring opening festivities of Logan in Bloom, and will greet local residents as well as visitors to southeast Ohio's famous Hocking Hills Region...with Logan's city slogan being "Gateway to the Hocking Hills."  Funds raised by the auction go … (0 comments)
