Family Recreation in Haller Lake

You're looking for a grassy area to host a BBQ with your friends and family. Maybe you want to take your kids outside while you slap some burgers on the grill (or veggie burgers!) Where are all the picnic areas anyway? Family recreation is easy to find in Haller Lake - starting with the lake itself. There are two public entrances to be taken advantage of, and the West entrance boasts BBQ pits and tables to boot. The North entrance is less suited for family recreation; the only place to sit is on a thick branch hanging low over a swampy bog. The West entrance is accessible from 125th St NE.

Another popular place for family recreation in Haller Lake is Northacres park located on 1st Ave NE and 130th Ave NE. The park spans the distance between 125th and 130th Ave NE and from 1st to 3rd Ave NE. The BBQ pits are located throughout the front of the park, with accompanying play structures and tire-tunnels for the little ones. The swings and slide are openly visible from the family recreation area, making the park an ideal location for a larger gathering. The park has been renovated and refreshed in the last month - it's easy to see through the trees to the back, almost to the parking lot. Recently spruced up with brand new trails, it's a perfect park to stroll through with your kids while birds chirp around you. Family recreation is easy when nature surrounds you with its beauty.

If you're looking for a place in Haller Lake to spread out the blanket and slap on the sunscreen, the best section is located around back. Accessible from 125th and 3rd Ave NE, there is a baseball field to play ball with your kids and a huge field to run around with your blanket cape or lay on your back with the sun shining. If your family recreation activities include a canine friend, there is a dogpark that both your dog and your kids will absolutely love. It is a huge, fenced off loop that you can run through endlessly, with exciting dips and turns for added excitement. Of course, bags and water are provided for the dogs, making this dogpark the perfect getaway for planning your next family recreation day. Plus, there are plenty of friendly people with their own canines that will welcome you into the community. Maybe your dog will even make a friend or two!
