Wouldn't all real estate investors like to make some money off their properties and simultaneously attract high-quality tenants who will care of the investment? Sure they would. On today's Equifax personal finance blog, real estate investor Andy Heller advocates the lease option, which gives tenants the opportunity to buy the home in the future once they can secure a loan. He suggests a version of a lease option whereby a landlord offers the tenant a minimum three-year lease, and in exchange offers 10 percent of the rent towards the tenant's cash needs if he or she decides to purchase.
