IRS releases the form for the First Time Homebuyer Tax Credit - 02/21/09 04:11 PM
This week the IRS released a revised form to cover changes in the first-time homebuyer tax credit from the Stimulus package signed into law on Feb. 17th.  The form includes instructions for filling it out, but you would be advised to check with your tax advisor to make sure that this credit would apply to your specific situations.

The stimulus package has been a roller coaster ride.  Here's a summary:
During 2008, there was a $7,500 repayable tax credit for first time home buyers.  The credit would have to be repaid in later years. The 2009 stimulus package had a proposal that the credit would not have to be repaid. Then there was a highly publicized proposal for a $15,000 non-repayable tax credit.
