Those of you that know me KNOW that I am not the controversial type. You will also know that although I am not an "active", Active Rain user, there's a spot in my heart for this platform because of the friendships I've made and because of the mere fact that I learned so much here since 2006.

Everyone loves Jeff Turner! There's something about him that draws you in and we get sucked up into trying tools and crap we never thought possible. Going to San Francisco was such an amazing experience that no matter what I say or how I describe it, I will be doing it injustice.
Teresa Boardman's perspective hit it right on the spot - "The People in my computer" - HOLY COW!!!! Those people are real and they are exactly what we imagine them to be and it is so overwhelming you wish you could stick them back in there to catch your breath.

Many of you may have noticed that I have not been around much, especially last week. But I was taking a rest and going to bed early (meaning 12:00 AM rather than 2:00 AM) - It's during those extra 2 hours that I splash around the RAIN.

We only have a couple of days left of Project Blogger and I could not just let it end without saying good bye. It's been 14 gruesome weeks of this event and I call them gruesome not because they were unpleasant, but because it was a lot of work! All of us involved had full-time jobs (and in real estate that means 7 days a week), and had busy personal lives during the competition.

Did you guys notice that there is another Ines Garcia in Active Rain? Yes, you are reading correctly, and when you read her MeMe you will find more in common than just our names.

When blogging we hear so much about "finding your voice". The good ladies of the rain, TLW, Mariana Wagner, Ann Cummings, Monika McGillicuddy, and Carole Cohen, all wrote about it when we reviewed books here in Active Rain like Realty Blogging, by Richard Nacht and Paul Chaney and also The Weblog Handbook by Rebecca Blood.

When I first saw Jonathan's announcement about Project Blogger I was so intrigued and thought it was such an incredible and innovative idea. Then shock hit me when Paul Chaney, THE PAUL CHANEY, whose book, Realty Blogging, we (TLW, Ann, Monika, Mariana and Carole), had reviewed a couple of weeks prior here on Active Rain, invited me to be his apprentice.
But in my wildest dreams, would I have ever imagined what this competition would turn to....the camaraderie, the friendship, the help and the sharing that has transpired on only the first week of the competition leave me speechless. At any given time, you can log on to Active Rain and find your favorite "rainers" - but if AR went "POOF" like our favorite Codgers' stories, would you know where to go? Would you be able to find your friends?
Here's what I found.... TLW and Broker Bryant do ramble and can even hear a "BAM" once in a while. Jeff Turner is usually at work with the latest gadgets here, but can also be found in deep thought; you can also find him scanning his wife Rocky's blog (although a mother he is not), or getting ideas for Rain for Change.

Can we discuss the power we have within our reach?
This incredible tool way surpasses any expectations I might have had. Not long ago I wrote a blog for LOCALISM about DownTown Miami Shores. The post included names of businesses and photos of the area.
To my surprise, while visiting our pediatrician, Dr. Laura Fernandez-Ortiz - who happens to be a Miami Shores resident as well as a good friend - she told me that a patient had found her through my post! This patient was not aware of her move, went on line and found my post with her information. HOW COOL IS THAT!!

OK guys, it's not very often we get to pat our fellow ACTIVE RAINERS in the back but this one deserves a big CONGRATULATIONS!!
