real estate blog: Missing my friend, Laurie Manny - 08/29/10 09:50 PM
I wrote this for our Miamism audience and thought it would only be right to share it here as well since this is the place where I met Laurie.  So many great memories from the early Active Rain - from book reviews, to high jacks and serious discussions about blogging and real estate.  Miss you girlfriend!

Unfortunately for all of us, and because it’s part of life, we lose loved ones along the way. We all mourn our losses differently and in many cases our lives never become the same. This week, the on-line world suffered a huge loss and … (12 comments)

real estate blog: Taking your Online efforts Offline - Part ii - 01/20/09 09:27 PM

Here’s part 2 of taking your online efforts offline - I’m still getting a lot of feedback from my presentation at Inman Real Estate Connect in New York - it’s great to see that I have sparked creativity and people are seeing ROI in a whole different light. It's great to see the feedback and reactions here on Active Rain - I have to admit that I missed the interaction.
I can’t stress enough the need to be GENUINE and not sales pitchy….remember that with everything I tell you.
I already mentioned an official launch and complementing your on-line and … (20 comments)

real estate blog: NAR opening their eyes to Blogging - 01/12/08 11:50 AM
Look who I found yesterday in non other that NAR's Magazine?
I don’t know about you, but it feels good when I open a random article by NAR and actually know who they are talking about. Although they are covering Inman’s Real Estate Connect (it only seems right), it was great that Brian Brady and Dustin Luther were featured. They are 2 good guys that I look up to and like their style.

Take a look at the article:
Bloggers Debate Best Way to Attract Consumers
They both present interesting strategies for blogging successfully and although there is no right or … (59 comments)

real estate blog: Ines' six pack - 10/22/07 09:04 AM
Many of you may have noticed that I have not been around much, especially last week.  But I was taking a rest and going to bed early (meaning 12:00 AM rather than 2:00 AM) - It's during those extra 2 hours that I splash around the RAIN.
So now that I am renewed and refreshed - I had to catch up and write my SIX PACK - since I don't to beer - here are some mojitos while you read.
Some of these I picked because the comments.  Sometimes comments become better than the actual post, that's what's beautiful about Active Rain.
Emotions FOR … (38 comments)

real estate blog: Miamism's first Guest Blogger - 07/28/07 11:55 PM
For those of you who have an outside blog or who visit the real blogosphere, you may have noticed that guest blogging is pretty popular.  There are many reasons to invite someone to appear as a guest in your blog, but mainly it has to do with getting a different perspective for your readers.
If you are a Realtor, it may benefit you to have a mortgage broker, a stager, an appraiser or any other real estate service provider write an article in your blog in order to give your readers a complete perspective of our industry.  You can also invite another Realtor in order to reinforce a topic … (40 comments)

real estate blog: Blog Tour USA in Miami - 07/09/07 10:46 PM
A little birdie told me (actually e-mailed me.....thanks Dave) that the Sellsius guys, were going to be in Miami on Sunday and Monday so I jumbled my schedule around and gave them a call to see what their plans were.
We agreed to meet near Miami Ink in SoBe (I admit I was a little scared about going into a Tattoo Parlor....but this is Miami.....what the heck!).  Rudy and Joe ended up being the nicest, most down to earth guys and it was such a pleasure to meet them.
For those of you that may not know about Blog Tour USA, Rudy and Joe, the brains behind … (46 comments)

real estate blog: Open House vernacular translated - 07/01/07 10:23 PM
In the Real Estate Industry we get comfortable with our "lingo" and with the every day dealings that seem so normal to us and forget to think about the regular consumer that does not deal with real estate issues all the time.
You know what I'm talking about the day you are hosting an open house and someone knocks on the door and waits for you to open the door, then is afraid to come in, or expects you to walk them around the property.  You can tell right away that they don't do this often and don't know if there's a … (30 comments)

real estate blog: GET A LIFE! - Review #7 of The WeBLOG Handbook, by Rebecca Blood - 02/02/07 09:28 PM
This is the last review of a series, of a book called WeBLOG, by Rebecca Blood.
Although I will go over the last Chapter, I urge everyone to look beyond Chapter 7 into great tools included by the author in Appendix I, II and II at the end - which cover tutorials from writing linktext to buying a Domain.
I found the author's tone in this book to be motherly and nurturing, as if Rebecca was speaking directly to me and telling me the do's and don'ts of blogging - as if she was holding me by the hand showing me the ropes.  … (26 comments)

real estate blog: The Superbowl XLI in Miami - 01/19/07 11:11 PM

Super Bowl XLI will take place in Miami on Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Dolphin Stadium.  This will be the 9th time in Miami (4th time at the Dolphin's Stadium and the other 5 at the Orange Bowl).
The Super Bowl is known for so many things.... the incredible commercials, the halftime shows (which by the way will be Prince this year), the beautiful Vince Lombardi Super Bowl trophy, designed by Tiffany & Co., and of course the actual game.  I personally had never known the impact this one game has on the host city.  Miami is a madhouse right now.  People … (35 comments)

real estate blog: Why Blog – Review #2 of The WeBLOG Handbook, by Rebecca Blood - 01/15/07 07:51 PM
This is the second review of a series, of a book called WeBLOG, by Rebecca Blood.  The first review, written by Mariana Wagner will give you some history of blogs including who started, how, and when.    I will focus on WHY and WHO.
If you are reading this, there's a good chance that you not only are reading blogs, but you are writing them.  A lot of us got into it to get more business, some others because it was fun.   There are others that are letting that inner writing monster out for the first time and are enjoying it!  Well....Rebecca tells … (34 comments)

real estate blog: The day we did not show up - 01/07/07 09:07 PM
Ok my friends, I have a dilemma that I must share and need help with.  After sitting down to do our yearly business plan and deciding what changes to make, I realized that I had one goal that I had written down last year and it never became concrete.
For all of you that know me, even the ones that know me a little bit, you know that when I set my mind to do something, not only do I do it, but I do it well.  How could I have written down a goal and totally forgot about it? How … (40 comments)
