Chris Olsen has been one of our most loyal clients since we first met somewhat over a year ago as a result of an Active Rain post by a sweet Canadian, Tanya Nouwens. She bragged about a postcard design we did for her, and Chris hired us to do a Just Listed thing. Since then, we've done all sorts of stuff together, including complete redesign of his two websites, or rather really building him two brand new sites. OlsenZiegler.com which is a corporate entity designed to represent his brokerage and ClevelandHomesSearch.com - a consumer centric site for all things Cleveland Real Estate.

Hi all. Some of you may have noticed that our site was under-construction these last few weeks, so you couldn't get to anything. We've been trying our best to find the time to redo our site for the better part of the last four years to no avail, and so finally, when planning for it was obviously just not going to happen, we bit the bullet and redesigned it, mostly at night or during rare breaks between client business.

It seems one can’t attend a seminar or read a marketing newsletter nowadays without being told that the most important thing you can do is brand yourself, your company or your service offering. You are told that the only way you’ll make it is to stand out, to be (with apologies to Godin) that purple cow, that one Realtor that everyone will recognize as the alpha dog of your niche or territory. It’s the universal panacea for the decline of your business, market, sales and, by inevitable side effect, a guarantee of success.

I've been suffering from writer's block of sorts lately. Just can't drag the muse out of her funk, and no amount of trolling the net for ideas helps to string a few words together for a blog. Heck, I can't find enough words for my FB Status update. When I can't write - I read, and I've been reading an awful lot in the Rain lately.
With members calling the shots on features - I've been reading the dashboard again, and not just those I subscribe to.

I am not a terribly prolific blogger or commenter, so this climb toward my first 100k has been a slow journey.
My oldest son who appeared here first as a sweet young teen is going off to college in a few months. My dogs are no longer puppies, and I am a few wrinkles richer, if not wiser.
Things change with time, and one learns the ropes, and makes the necessary changes to achieve the latest sets of goals. Those who plan and stick to that plan diligently are statistically much more likely to succeed, at least financially. I am not … (34 comments)
