Our Susan Mangigian has been doing Thankful Thursday posts for a while now. I’ve always read them, if only to snag a bit of that much needed optimism that permeates each and every one of them. It’s mostly the little things that make up the things to be thankful for in Susan’s posts. Her sweet cuddly puppy, JJ, the hugs of the kids, the sunspot or the strikingly beautiful cherry tree in her front yard. I am always late. It almost doesn't matter what's at stake, or where I am going, chances are I will be late for it. My friends joke that I will, in fact, be late for my own funeral. The weather report called for late afternoon thunderstorms, which generally means a four in the afternoon cut off time for any outdoor activity involving water. The stars were out in full force that night, and as the air became tinged with just a hint of winter - our noses longed for the smell of logs burning in the fireplace... It's hard to justify having an indoor fireplace with daytime temps hovering at over 70 around Christmas but we do have a little round fire pit outside, which has been neglected for over a year.
