Last year Bartonville ,Texas started Free Movie Night. It is located across from the west entrance of Lantana on FM 407. You need to bring your own chair or blanket to sit on and the movie starts at 8:30. The movie dates are June 7th and 21st, July 12 and 26th, and August 9th. Go early because the food is great! GPS Adventure is an outdoor recreational activity designed for friends and families to explore the Town's park system. A high tech game of hide and seek, the Adventure uses GPS Orienteering to lead participants through 15 of Flower Mound's parks on a hunt to fi nd hidden markers. Flower Mound's Lakeside Business District was recently featured in the Dallas Business Journal, which noted the rapid growth of the 226-acre business park. The article made mention of the 85 acre, 1.8 million square feet of business space which is being developed by Seefried Properties and Cousins Properties. The two companies recently announced that Home Depot Supply signed a lease for almost half of the space in the first 750,000-square-foot building, and several developers have expressed interest in purchasing the remaining land in the district. Used to be a parking lot, the Old Town Community Garden is providing an environment for inexperienced and experienced gardeners to build a community spirit. Surplus produce will be donated to the CCA food pantry where 30% of the angels are diabetic and in need of nutritious food. Individuals and volunteer groups have worked for months creating fertile soil for planting, a compost pile, decorative arbor and walkways. The Lake Ray Roberts Land Use Ordinance was approved by a majority vote of the registered voters of Denton County and adopted by the Denton County Commissioners Court in December of 1994. The ordinance governs any structures and land located within the area bounded by the shoreline of Lake Ray Roberts at its take elevation line of six hundred and forty five feet mean sea level (645 MSL) and a line five thousand feet (5000) from and following said take line except any land lying within a cities corporate limits. Did you know? Highland Village Animal Control Animal Registration Information All animals within the city limits must be registered. Licenses for dogs and cats may be obtained from the animal control office at City Hall. City registration tags are issued and (in addition to a current rabies vaccination tag) must be worn by the animal at all times. The fee is $5.00 and proof of a current rabies vaccination must be presented. Registrations must be renewed annually. Highland Village, Texas has a Home-Based Business Directory. For the last three years, HV has published the directory and delivered it to every business and residence in the city. It's also included on the Highlandvillage.orgweb site. It's now time to publish the fourth edition and you need to be included! The goal is to included every business located in the city including Home-Based businesses. If you live in Highland Village, Texas your child must have Scooter Training. The city ordinance ( 04-094)requires scooter training for kids 12 years of age and older. The ordinance regulates the use of motorized scooters within the city limits. The three most important regulations/restrictions are: 1. No Gas Scooters, 2. Minimum Age Requirement is 12 years old, 3. All riders that do not have a state issued drivers license must complete the scooter training and obtain the permit. This is all for child safety! So enroll today. Flower Mound officials recently broke ground on the Town's first hotel, which will be located in the Lakeside Business District. Overlooking Lake Grapevine, the Lakeside Resort and Residences will provide breathtaking views for patrons and residents and is sure to be a landmark attraction for North Texas. The 460,000-square-foot hotel will include 289 rooms, 64 private residences, two restaurants, a lounge and bar, a 7,000-square-foot spa, and 25,000-square-feet of meeting space. Highland Village has New Communication Service The city of Highland Village has implemented the Connect-CTY service to provide our city administrators with the ability to send and track voice messages to businesses, residents and city employees, as well as schedule pertinant work. All of this is done with a single phone call.
