Decorating for the Holidays when you're house is for sale - 11/14/07 10:56 AM
I have had this question asked many times in the last couple of weeks. My answer: Make sure it's not over the top and/or religious. Remember that you're appealing to the masses and not everyone believes the same way you do. Part of selling a home is making the potential buyers feel welcome. You can do that with minimal decorations. Forget the Christmas tree and use greenery, pine-cones, red and green candles etc. instead. Also, the tree usually takes up valuable square footage. Make sure your senses aren't overwhelmed either. Cinnamon and spices are really pungent at times so be careful. Try a (1 comments)
Newest Wal-Mart in Highland Village, Texas - 11/14/07 10:44 AM
Well the controversial Wally world finally opened and I just hadto go. It's definitely not your average Super Center. The outside is constructed of Austin Stone and is highlighted by the 100 year old Pecan tree smack dab in front. You don't see the large "always" sign because it's not there. Neither is the Tire and Lube. That was replaced by a Bike Repair shop. Gotta love that! I have to confess, I was one of the petitioners who didn't want Big Box Retail" in our town. Mostly because of the huge tax abatement they usually get and the thought of (3 comments)
Highland Village, Texas..."Our Village Glows" Celebration - 11/14/07 10:33 AM
Every year the Highland Village Women's Club and the City organize an event called "Our Village Glows". It's a tree lighting ceremony with local choirs (my 4th grade daughter being one of them!), carolers, cookie decorating and even SANTA! The residents of Highland Village are truly excited about this event and are grateful to our city and Women's Club for getting it together. Come join in the fun! Does your Town have a Tour Of Homes? - 11/09/07 05:37 PM
My group (Texas Chapter) want to go on a field trip! We thought about a Tour of Homes but not sure when or where. Any ideas? We don't care if it's Christmas or not, just want to have a good time. We all live in the North Texas region and are willing to drive up to an hour. So if any of you live in a town that has an annual event like that , please let me know. Thanks! (5 comments)
