Or are they really looking to put money in their pocket?
Here's what I came to find by speaking to a homeowner who is 4 month behind on their mortgage because the homeowner was hurt and was unable to work for a while. he did contact Chase as soon as it accured. They offered him NOTHING. all they want is " pay us now" the home has quite a nice amount of equity and they actually said to him that they are interested in foreclosing on his house rather then helping him out to keep and stay at the house.

That's what they tell you. contact your bank whenyou are in the beginning of your financial dificulty, not when you've benn 3 months behind on your payments. Well here is a situation with a reputable bank CHASE. a homeowner who has a first mortgage at principal balance of oproximatley 150,000 and a home equity line of credit for a principal balance of oproximatkey 50,000 with CHASE has going through some hard time due to cut backs at his job, hours were reduced.
