It is official.  We have just updated our image and our new website for One Day Redesigns!  I am very excited because this has been a long time in the wings.  Our new website is RedesignBoise.com.  We are very pleased with the work our talented webmaster and graphic artist.  April Brinkley, from Lipstick and Rouge Designs, is creative and caring.  (lipstickandrougedesigns.com)  We have been in business for four and a half years in Boise.  It was time to update and simplify our look, info and our website all around.
As I was thinking about websites I thought I would share with you things to consider … (21 comments)

marketing: Five Tips on Selecting your Domain Name! - 03/16/09 05:39 PM
How many of you struggled in finding a domain name that either matches your business name or describes what you do in a very short space?
Our name of our parent company is One Day Redesigns, Inc.  I know how challenging it can be to find the name that truly depicts your image and says it in a short and sweet way.  Companies spend lots of money to get the right message across to their potential clients.
When we selected the name for our Redesign business years ago, there was someone else who already owned the domain name of:  www.OneDayRedesigns.com.  So, … (8 comments)

marketing: What kind of Business Cell Phone Etiquette do you have? - 06/27/08 07:54 PM
Isn't it amazing how much cells phones affect so many parts of our lives?
Cell phones have really changed our lives haven't they?  My husband was gone for two weeks to complete his last Doctoral module in Southern California.  He would call every morning and then in the evenings.  It is important to check in with each other especially during our time of traveling to make sure to keep our family life going and keep the communication lines open for all.  My son and I were home running the business.  We put the cell phone on the "speaker mode" and continued our various activities … (42 comments)

marketing: Stylish Presentation Board Tips on a Budget! - 06/13/08 09:00 PM
Often, I am asked by my students and fellow Redesigners and Stagers about our Presentation Boards that we use to promote our business.  I thought these tips would help some of you that want to learn how you can make some quality boards on a Budget.  We often get complimented on our boards so I thought I would share these tips with you.
As a former Artist and Graphic Artist I have learned how to make my own and I will share the three different types of Presentation Boards that we have fine tuned and found the most effective to promote … (19 comments)

marketing: Five Reasons This Creative Marketing Strategy Will Work! - 05/31/08 12:53 PM
I received a gift this week that totally suprised me!  It had been a challenging week, but I received a small but powerful surprise!  I received a beautiful white rose bouquet that was totally unexpected.  My husband has been great on giving me flowers throughout our almost 29 year marriage.  It was not from him.  Who would be sending me flowers for no apparent reason?  I never tire of receiving flowers.  They bless me tremendously!  The beauty, fragrance, colors and the symbolism has always been a delight to me.
I looked at the Card and it was from Jack's Flowers here … (15 comments)

marketing: It is nice to be in Demand! - 05/04/08 11:10 AM
Doesn't it feel good to be wanted?  I have a new client that wants to get a Redesign done on their home.  We have one of our busiest months with training, speaking and seminars.  Even though they want us to get going on their home and they are finally ready for a change, they are willing to wait for us, until our next available date!  They have seen the work we have done for their neighbors.  Even though they have a different style, they are ready for an Update and a Change.
The husband asked me a question that I have been … (8 comments)

marketing: Three Tips to Express Thanks! - 05/01/08 03:16 PM
Have you taken the time today to thank someone?  It is so easy to take people for granted, don't you think?
I continue to see the impact a word of thanks, thinking of you or simply thank you for being you is a wonderful way to make someone's day.  Don't you love it when you receive a note when someone remembered you?
From time to time, I think about my Family Members, Friends and Business Associate that have made a difference in my life.  Sometimes it is those little things that really make a difference in your relationships.  I think it is … (9 comments)

marketing: The World Needs "Real People!" - 04/27/08 12:52 PM

I do a lot of public speaking and teaching these days for various organizations, large or small, including Realtor Associations, DIY Clinics and the City of Boise.  My listeners enjoy and laugh and when I tell them, "Will the Real People please step forward?  I don't have time to play games with the rest of you!"  At first, I thought perhaps it's my age and that I'm getting older.  I don't know about you, but I think life is too short to play games.
We were fortunate enough to finally coordinate our schedules to have a face to face marketing … (13 comments)

marketing: Finding the Gold! - 04/24/08 10:12 PM
Any Goldminer will tell you how many rocks, pebbles and sand they had to sift through to find Gold!
In my marketing experience, I look for creative ways to find the "Gold" clients among the average clients.
I persevere and look at new things that I have not thought of before.  I have quiet thinking times and think about my target market.  Where do they go?  What do they read?  Where do they shop?  What movies do they see?  What do they look like?
Then depending on my target answers I look and research what they read.  What organizations do they belong … (4 comments)

Through lots of hard work and continuing to educate myself and others, I was recently appointed as the Chairman of the Professional Development Committee for IRIS (Interior Redesign Industry Specialists.)  I count this an honor and a privilege.  It is very fulfilling and extremely rewarding to learn from other successful professionals and help others grow.

marketing: Don't just go through life, GROW through Life! - 02/24/08 08:45 AM
Don't just go through life, GROW through life! by Eric Butterworth.  I found this quote recently on the Internet while researching the meaning of Grow.  Don't you love that?  How about you?  Are you ready to GROW?  I believe that I will be a life long learner.  I hunger for knowledge and how to do this life better don't you?  I enjoy being challenged.  I believe that comes from having the amazing opportunities I have had throughout my entire life.  As I get older, I realize the importance of giving back to others and to see them shine!  I love it.  There is nothing … (5 comments)

marketing: Marketing is Gardening, not Hunting! - 02/07/08 11:08 PM
My Marketing Coach told me something recently that I am finding to be true:  "Marketing is Gardening, not Hunting!"
I keep thinking about that comment and found the truth in gardening.  You dig, till the soil, clear out the rocks, plant, water, weed and fertilize your garden.  Have you ever discovered that you may spend a lot of time in doing a marketing project and really put your heart into it and you dont' see the results right away?  At first you may not get a very big response.  But then in a few days you start getting a call, a … (0 comments)

marketing: Creative Marketing that produces Results! - 12/28/07 07:00 AM
Recently, I ended up having a four hour lunch & meeting with one of the Sales Associates at the most premiere and very affluent Meadow Lake Village, a Resort Retirement Community, here in Boise.  It is usually for the very affluent. It is the only one of it's kind in Idaho.  There are various levels for Seniors from Cottage homes, Independent Living to an Assisted Living new wing that opened up recently. Long story short, this has been in process for about 8 months.  The Sales Associate that I originally met became the Supervisor and is much more creative and open … (3 comments)
