Beautiful and mature camphor trees create a shady arch over the wide boulevard as you enter from Orange Grove. pasadena ca: Pasadena CA Real Estate Agent Interviewing Tip - 04/28/08 10:22 AM
Earlier today, I had an appointment with a home seller in Pasadena. He had his home listed on the market and in the period of two months had only a few showings. His listing expired and he is now in the process of interviewing to find a Pasadena real estate agent that he can trust to handle the sale and marketing of his home. A very smart move on his part given the diversity of experience in the Pasadena real estate market place. His previous real estate agent entered his home in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). Thats great, right? NO¦

pasadena ca: Pasadena CA Real Estate Agents and Short Sales - 04/22/08 12:51 AM
Did you know that most Pasadena agents will not show their buyers available homes for sale that are in a ‘short sale' process? Why? Most Pasadena real estate agents do not understand how to work with a ‘short sale'. They do not understand how to counsel their buyers appropriately and do not want to put in the time or effort into the short sale, thus avoiding any listings that state that they are ‘short sales'. We have been fortunate over the last 6 to 8 years not to work with loss mitigators at the banks in handling these home sales. It is an art

pasadena ca: Robeks Pasadena - When you need a boost! - 11/10/07 12:24 AM
Ricardo Bueno and I decided to take a breather and visit Robeks down the street from my office in Pasadena. Robeks specializes in fresh juices, shakes & smoothies. It's located on the North West corner of Del Mar and Arroyo Parkway. Lucky for us, or I should say me, Ricardo won a "bring a friend" to Robeks drawing! I was the chosen friend! When we got there, we were treated to our choice of a smoothie. Although, Ricardo's (since he was the winner) was significantly larger than mine. :-( We were asked if we wanted a healthy vitamin "boost" and made our way to

pasadena ca: Ritz Carlton in Pasadena sold for $170 Million - 10/24/07 06:59 PM
Ritz Carlton has been a landmark in Pasadena since 1904. It overlooks San Marino and is set on 23 acres of the most beautiful, lush grounds. It has 392 rooms and a wonderful spa. My family and I have been to many Sunday brunches to celebrate special occasions. So... it's with a sad heart that I read today that Ritz Carlton sold for $170 million. It was purchased in 1994 for $42.5 million by LACERA (Los Angeles County Retirement Association.) The Hong Kong company, Great Eagle, currently owns a chain of luxury hotels in Australia, New Zealand, London, Boston and Hong Kong. The

It's hot. It's soooo scorching hot. It's ridiculously hot and humid! There was even an excessive heat warning today! I can not remember it every being this hot in my beautiful city of roses. Earlier today, it was 112 degrees on my thermostat in my backyard. It feels like Palm Springs. Weather.com reports that it's 99 degrees righ now and it's 7:25 in the evening. I was curious so I decided to look at stats, the average temperature for Pasadena is 91 degrees in August and 89 degrees in September. The last time it was so hot in Pasadena was in 1934 when

pasadena ca: Southern California: May '07 Real Estate Market Report - Is It Really a Buyer's Market? - 06/14/07 12:36 PM
With all the hoopla in the media about slow sales and the market shifting to a buyer's market, it's interesting to note that Southern California's real estate market is continuing to appreciate. DQNews reports that even though the number of homes sold is slowing down, the median sales price of a home in Southern California for the month of May 2007 is $505,000. This is up 4.9% from May of last year when a median home cost $481,500. Now, this increase is on top of already pretty hefty appreciation that took place in our market place over the last several years. It is interesting to
