Last night I attended a San Marino Community meeting discussing a proposed San Marino City Dog Park in Lacy Park. Derek Barker, a student at San Marino High School felt so passionately about having a place to run his dogs that he decided to undertake this initiative as his Eagle Scout project.
San Marino Recreation Committee met held a public meeting at the Crowell Library to hear feedback from the community on this matter.

Every morning, for the last 2 weeks, I get up at 5:25 am to take my daughter for her cross country practice at Lacy Park. I am not much of a morning person, but I am beginning to look forward to greeting the day in the beauty of this hidden park.
I say hidden because even though Lacy Park is located in San Marino, California, for the most part, only the residents of San Marino truly know about it. Even residents of Lacy Park's next door neighbors - Pasadena, San Gabriel and Alhambra are sometimes not aware of it's existence.

Each year, I wake up early in the morning, grab a couple of blankets, run to Starbucks (hard as I try and after many spills, I still can't resist going to Starbucks), drive over to Lacy Park and join a slew of people waiting for the gates to open. Every year, Carver has a carnival the day before mother's day and every year, for the last 7 years, my kids and I have attended.
This year, I'll be helping out in the Chinese Booth, while the kidlets check out the new Petting Zoo, book nook, goldfish catch, the jail house, and of course the infamous CAKE WALK, amongst others.

San Marino statistics for the month of April show that the market is still going strong, with no signs of slow down.
Last year, there were 120 sales in San Marino - about 10 per month. Last month, once again there were 10 homes that sold at an average price of $1,567,350, just a bit OVER asking.
There are currently 21 homes on the market and 6 are in escrow as I write this post.

Time: 4:00 pm - check in for all participants; 5:00 pm - START!
Entry Fee: $5.00 per event
Registration: January 29th through March 1st, 2007. No late registrations allowed.
Track events include a 50 meter, 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, 800 meter and 1600 meter race, and a 400 meter relay race. Field events include a softball throw, long jump and high jump. Medals are awarded to first, second and third place winners.
