New Mountaintop Home - 06/20/09 07:54 PM
This one is special. Brand New on top of a mountain with long range views. Because you will be climbing a mountain, the price set for this one is far less than were it two miles down the road. But once you get used to Grady Winkler Road, residents there tell me you "don't ever give it a second thought."
And there are far more difficult places to get to in our hills than to this sweet private spot.
So come on UP literally and take a peek. MLS #: R84713A (Active)   List Price: $289,000

Green Mortgages...Do We Have to Go Online? - 06/20/09 07:45 PM
I love to shop Locally, for myself as well as my client.  I have tried to get info from any LOCAL ANY bank as to if they do any work witha green mortgage. Of those dozen i contacted REPEATEDLY, only two have responded, and they basically said "I don't think we do those."
And that was that.
Tonight i stumbled across two interestingsites online -Mortgage Green and My Energy loan- who seem to tout doing a great job and offer discounts to clients buying green homes. One even buys carbon offsets for each loan signed.
I like to shop locally. We are in … (0 comments)

Asheville, NC Values Overpriced When Compared to Boone, Big Surprise!@ - 06/12/09 10:54 AM
I had no idea that Asheville which is one of our top close markets was overvalued.
There is much Green thinking and building going on in Asheville, but one would think that has little to do with this big of a jump above average price.
Just thought this interesting to find that this city just 85 miles away via the Blue Ridge Parkway from Boone was so high.
Wouod love to know if anyone else has found close cities with which your market competes to be overpriced compared to your own market.
Have a super day.

REFERRALS...How Do You Explain The Process To Friends & Family? - 06/07/09 09:34 AM
Okay, I am dumbfounded now.
Just talking on the phone with my sister, who is one of the smartest human beings on the planet, about referrals. We have had the "before anyone in the family even calls a Realtor...Call Aunt Judy first." discussion adfinitum.
I am a REALTOR® in North Carolina and she lives in South Florida.
So today, she mentions her son is relocating back to Weston, FL, from Texas and is looking for a rental until his home in Ft. Myers sells. So I gently remind her before they look to buy in the near future call Aunt Judy.
Her response, … (0 comments)
