Home prices aren’t tanking everywhere. In some cities they have bounced pretty high off the bottom, according to a report in Forbes magazine. Altos Research examined data for every U.S. city with at least 100 homes on the market – about 8,000 cities. The tax credit will be expiring on June 30, 2010. Everyone has to be in contract by April 30, 2010. What are you waiting for?
If buyers cannot afford to buy, then of course you can't buy. But the buyers that can afford it now, now is not the time to hold off. We moved to Lindenhurst in 1975. My parents bought their first home on 753 S. Pecan Street which is down the block from E.W. Bower Elementary School.
I have very fond memories from attending Bower Elementary School. Days of playing dodge ball during lunch time, playing on the swings, handball, jump rope, and hopscotch. I also remember my teacher, Mrs. Healy. She was a good teacher, but tough. You learned in her classroom. She had the unfortunate task of having to leave me back in 6th grade. My husband had been wanting to go to Five Guys Burgers go since it opened in Amityville, New York a few months ago.
Me? Well, I always have my doubts about new fast food places because I have images of frozen beef stored for too long and therefore just tasting bland.

This past Saturday, my buyers had an inspection scheduled for their co-op purchase. They decided to use Avi Korine because I told them he's very thorough to say the least. He's fair and doesn't overprice repairs that are needed.
Avi was there for just over an hour and this is a co-op! He checked everything. In the end, he gave a detailed verbal inspection report which found nothing major and my buyers are happy. They were also impressed with Avi and were glad they took my advice.

South Bay Elementary School In West Babylon Ravaged by Fire
Last night a fire destroyed 2 of 3 wings of this beloved elementary school that educates 400 children, Kindergarten through 5th grade. It continued to rage for 6 hours into the wee hours of the morning today.
A gas line exploded in the cafeteria and the boiler room may be to blame.
It is not clear if the children will attend that school come this Monday.
A volunteer fire-woman, Christine Manzi, teaches at the South Bay Elementary School and has said, "there will be a "big adjustment" for children and adults … (5 comments)

I held a Broker's Open House in Lindenhurst, Long Island today from 1:30 to 3:30.
It wasn't too cold out and the sun was out and felt warm. This short sale home is winterized and has no heat, and no electric.
After about a half hour of being in the house with only 1 agent showing up thus far, I went inside my car, turned it on and hit the heat! It felt good and I was content.

I am currently working with a wonderful couple who are first time home buyers. They were approved for an FHA mortgage and wanted to purchase a condo in the Ronkonkoma area of Long Island where they are more affordable. But, a 40 minute commute at minimum to both their jobs and that is just one way!
